Celestine is an intimate restaurant and venue located in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood. Tucked beneath the Manhattan Bridge on the edge of the East River, our floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the downtown skyline and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Our space Our dining room’s design is inspired by Lebanon in the 60s; pale ash wood contrasts with custom-pressed teal tiles, an abundance of plants, floor to ceiling windows on three sides. Retractable glass doors divide our dining room from our seasonal terrace which sprawls out over the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The space is surrounded by a lush planter which features a bounty of herbs, grasses, and small flowering plants from the North-East. It’s a gorgeous space for an on-site ceremony or cocktail hour, and it’s part of any private event held here. Our cuisine Beyond our physical space, our emphasis is on excellent food and warm, gracious hospitality. We want you and your guests to feel completely at ease from the moment you walk through our doors. Our menus take inspiration from the Mediterranean coastline, and we offer both buffet and family-style options. Our wine list features natural wines from the coastal Mediterranean region. Our cocktail menu highlights delicious riffs on classic drinks (think G&T’s with Turmeric and Lemongrass) and beers from local producers like Other Half and Folksbier. Our pricing We use a flat-fee structure, similar to an event minimum spend. This pricing is designed to cover almost everything, and includes food and beverage for up to 70 guests seated or 85 standing during peak season. While you are totally welcome to look into additional decor details, everything that is used for service is included in your private event. This covers the basics like glassware, plates, flatware, and napkins, but it also covers use of our votive candles, bud vases, table numbers, cake stand, easels, etc. We're also happy to create and print personalized menus for your event in-house. Evening events are typically 6pm - 11pm and daytime events are typically held from 11am - 3pm. New York sales tax, gratuity, and a 5% administrative fee are applied to event subtotals.
Ideal Glass Studios
Ideal Glass Studios is an artist-run film & TV production studio, founded in 2004 by native New Yorker, actor, and artist, Willard Morgan. The original East Village space, was transformed from a 1950’s glazier’s workshop into an independent gallery space and art collective. It was run by a small team of creatives dedicated to fostering a collaborative creative community, and featured rotating mural walls, art exhibitions, film screenings and multidisciplinary performances. In 2017, Morgan opened The Atrium and The Mansion in NYC’s West Village. Here, high-profile film, TV, music, fashion, and art vanguards gather regularly to collaborate. The original space’s DIY vibe lives on in its caring and eccentric team, encouraging creators to present their ideas clearly and express their vision freely. Here’s a breakdown of its features: The space features a long, dimly-lit open space with exposed brick walls that suggest a more laid-back, lounge or cocktail setting. There is a bar or serving area with a sleek design that adds an intimate lounge like atmosphere with a sophisticated marble countertop and glass shelving behind it with the necessary fridge equipment for food and drinks. The back of the space features a a combination of exposed brick and greenery, offering a rustic yet contemporary feel. Hanging pendant lights with woven, natural materials enhance the organic vibe. Furniture includes simple wooden tables and cushioned seating, making it suitable for both informal gatherings and formal setups. There are a total of 6 bathrooms in the space and the basement has a walk in fridge, coat check and food prep area.
