The New Orleans Board Of Trade was founded in 1880, and trading continued on the floor until mid-1960. Centered on the eastern wall of the building are three clocks, which have been in place since the building was erected, giving the times in New Orleans, New York & Rio de Janeiro, which were the major players in the Green Coffee Trading. The eight-sectioned mural done was hand-painted by local artist Alvin Sharpe in 1932. It took him approximately three months to complete. First, the canvas was glued to the dome, and then he painted them while on a scaffold in the prone position -- the local version of Michelangelo. (The cost for this project was only $5,500.00 -- just imagine what it would cost today!) In 1993, the Board of Trade was once again renovated, the floors leveled and carpeted with a movable dance floor. It is now available for special event rental, so the public has the opportunity to experience the grandeur of days gone by. The space can currently accomodate up to 500 guests reception style and 250 seated.

Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and The Music Box are all within walking distance. Families, wedding parties, company retreats, and other large groups will find it to be an excellent choice. On-site weddings and wedding-related events are hosted by the Mazant Hotel. We regularly host smaller (less than 50 people) gatherings throughout the year, and we also accept requests for a small number of larger (up to 200 guests) gatherings on a limited basis on an as-available basis basis. The cost of all weekend events is a three-night minimum buyout of the entire property (approximately $6,500), plus an additional fee based on the number of guests and type of event, which can range between $500 and $7,500 depending on the event. During your stay, you will have exclusive use of the main house and grounds, and the fee will cover standard cleaning, taxes, and service fees - as well as vendor load in and load out, as well as use of our Bose professional-grade sound system. Equipment rental, catering, chairs and tables (beyond what is already on the premises for resident guests), and other similar expenses are not included. As a result, we require that all guests hosting events on our property purchase event liability insurance as well as contract with a security vendor who has been approved by us (see below for more details). Please review our policies before making a reservation. In the center of a triple lot, the house has a corner yard (under an oak tree) to one side and a private, fenced yard to the other. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The two yards are linked together by a central hallway that runs through the center of the house and connects them. Some groups choose to hold part of the event (such as the ceremony) in one yard and the other part of the event (such as the reception) in another yard, but depending on the size of your group, you may be able to hold both the reception and the ceremony in the same location. There is a large gate in the non-cottage yard that can be opened to provide easy access for a food truck.

Watching friends and family members enjoy themselves is one of our favorite things. We are looking forward to collaborating with you to plan the wedding of your dreams! We will be there with you every step of the way, from menu options and décor to all of the small things. The Alexander Room and Terrace, which is tucked away in the heart of Metairie, is a true jewel. The International Brotherhood of Electricians (IBE) thought of and built the Alexander Room in 1984. The Alexander Room was designed to be a contender among Metairie's event spaces, and that was the goal from the outset of construction. The room was never advertised to the general public as a result of unforeseeable events. The Alexander Room was approached in 2014 with the aim of enlisting the help of Troy and Cindy Timphony of Hobnobber Café to take over the food, administration, and marketing of the space. As time went on, renovations were made, menus were created, and the website and social media platforms were established, resulting in the polished jewel that is The Alexander Room and Terrace. The Alexander Room has an inside size of 5000 square feet and a terrace with an additional 4000 square feet of space on the second level. Thanks to the recent addition of our outdoor speakers and festoon lights, you'll be able to dance under the stars without losing a beat. It is not permitted to bring in outside catering Every dish and beverage will be provided by Hobnobber Café. No food or beverage will be permitted to be brought in by an external catering company. Every dish and beverage is served buffet style on quality white and silver plastic plates with heavy weight silver plastic cutlery.

Sunday, or Domenica in Italian, is the day of the week for unhurried exploration and cooking hearty meals. Our chefs at Domenica restaurant work tirelessly to create meals that passionately combine local, fresh ingredients with time-honored preparation methods in an effort to bring diners to those treasured moments. Even though the cuisine is based on history, our chefs elevate Italian ingredients and traditional flavors to produce modern classics that are tailored for New Orleans' modern palate. Custom-brewed beers, seasonal artisan cocktails, and a wine list with an emphasis on Italy perfectly compliment the fresh pastas made by hand every day, roasted vegetables, meats, and Napolitano-style pizzas that are all served in the restaurant's distinctive wood oven. The Cellar, Domenica's exclusive private dining space, is only reachable through the kitchen, where you can watch the drama unfold firsthand. Full access to the main dining area, which has space for up to 120 people seated and 150 people standing, would be included in the restaurant's buyout.
