A Frederick County Maryland wedding venue that is affordable with an outside / garden setting. Whimsical, unique and vintage with rustic touches. Why consider Prosperity Mansion and Farm"? 1) Price- we are typically 40% less expensive than most wedding venues of the same stature 2) We offer THREE wedding packages to make us affordable 3) No Day of Coordinator required- MOST wedding venues now make it MANDATORY that you must hire a "Day of Coordinator or Wedding Planner". This comes at a significant additional cost of $1,200 to $3.000. Make sure that you add that into the quote for the cost of the wedding venue. 4) Select your own vendors- We do have a preferred vendors list but absolutely allow outside vendors as long as they meet our simple requirements. 5) BYOB- We have two local liquor stores that will deliver anything that you want in coolers iced up and ready to go on your wedding day. They will return after last call and refund you for anything that was unopened. Or you may bring your own. 6) A deposit will secure your date 7) Payment plans are available with zero % interest. 8) No hidden costs- We do charge a nominal fee for the ceremony if you are getting married here. However, make sure you ask the wedding venue if there are any extra fees that are no covered in the initial quote. I have heard from couples that once they met with a venue for a tour and leaned about all the things that cost extra that they could no longer afford them. For DREAM weddings held in July or August of 2025 or 2026- 10% discount from the already discounted brochure prices! Does not apply to other specials. Our season runs May through the 1st weekend of November. 1) Full day, DREAM weddings- From 20 to 200 guests and 8-10-12 hours 2) Small / Micro Weddings- Up to 50 guests and 5-6 hours 3) Courthouse weddings, Intimate weddings and Elopements- 2-30 people and 1-2 hours A simple deposit will secure your wedding date. Almost all wedding ceremonies are held outside, unless otherwise noted. Depending on the number of guests attending, small ceremonies can take place in indoor spaces. We have a number of locations on the farm where we can provide overhead coverage if necessary. Tent rental from third-party vendors may be required as additional coverage. We have some recommendations for caterers, musicians, and bartenders, but we do not require the use of an exclusive list for any of these services. We will gladly collaborate with the vendor of your choice. Bella Vita requires that all ceremonies and large celebrations be covered by liability insurance for the entire day of the event. We offer wedding packages starting at $3500 for MicroWeddings and $5000 for weddings with more than 50 attendees. All of this includes the use of 12 round tables and 100 white chairs, as well as a dress rehearsal the day before the event. Wedding rehearsal dinners on the farm are a wonderful way to kick off the wedding festivities. Consider it a pre-party to the Big Day, held in a more intimate setting with your bridal party, close friends, and family members before the big day. In order to create a memorable ambiance, inquire about the secret garden or the undercroft. Instead of a formal rehearsal dinner, you might prefer to have a friendly game of bocce ball or axe throwing as a pre-wedding activity. The cost of a space starts at $500, which includes tables, chairs, and basic white tablecloths. This venue is also available for your rehearsal dinner if your wedding is not taking place at Bella Vita.) Trying to come up with a unique venue for your next company or family get-together? Ostertag Vistas is a 164-acre historic farm property tucked in a quiet valley near Myersville, Maryland, 15 minutes from both Frederick and Hagerstown. The grounds include three landmarked structures dating to 1711 — among them a circa-1700s stone pioneer home with a water wheel and a mid-1700s log cottage built by early German settlers — alongside rolling hills, a farm pond, streams, and meadows that attract blue herons, bald eagles, and migrating geese. The centerpiece of the property is a carefully restored 18th-century German Swiss bank barn, known as The Barn. Its 50-foot ceiling, original mortise-and-tenon timber frame held by wooden pegs, three stone fireplaces, and large glass panels looking out over the 164 acres make it the focal point for weddings and receptions. The Barn accommodates up to 200 seated guests and includes a bridal suite, groom's room, five restrooms, a loft stage, and a small museum — with barn doors that open to the surrounding landscape. Beyond the barn, couples choose from six additional outdoor ceremony settings across the property: a forested hollow with streams and fern beds, an open meadow with willow trees and a pond, a hillside amphitheater, a patio framed by two pergolas with farmland views, and the log cottage's garden with a stream and brick walkway.

In 1823, John Miller built his hotel and tavern at the intersection of the Pike and Spickler Roads in the town of Spickler. It was one of the first stagecoach stops on the new National Pike when it was built. "There were large rooms adapted for dancing purposes, and young men and maidens from the neighborhood frequently tripped to the notes of the old time music in its spacious halls," wrote T.B. Searight of this well-known spot in 1894. The waltz was unheard of, and the figures ranged from the 'hoe down' to the cotillion, with the 'Virginia Reel' serving as the closing number. It was almost unavoidable that the old waggoneers were invited to participate in these festivities, and they did so with a fervor that could not be matched by the young men and women from the surrounding Clear Spring neighborhood." In 1864, the Miller's Farmstead site was the site of a Civil War skirmish that took place nearby. Confederate General John McCausland was planning a march from Clear Spring to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and he happened to pass through Mercersburg. Confederate Major Harry Gilmor led 200 men on a diversionary route along the National Road, giving the impression that the main strike was to be directed at Hagerstown, which was not the case. Gilmor was caught in an ambush by the Union army near Spickler's Hill, near Miller's Farmstead, and was forced to flee. It is still possible to see the bullet holes and cannon ball marks on the east wall of what was once Miller's Tavern, which was destroyed during the battle.

Kent Island Resort sits on 220 acres of Maryland Eastern Shore farmland, anchored by a restored manor house dating to the 1820s. The property offers nearly two miles of waterfront access along Thompson Creek, combining nearly two centuries of history with contemporary resort amenities. Five distinct event venues accommodate gatherings from 8 to 300 guests. The Farmstead, a barn-style space with exposed timber and soaring ceilings, and The Pavilion, a clear-sided structure set within a woodland clearing, each host up to 300 guests for ceremonies, receptions, and celebrations of all kinds. The Garden House seats up to 75 guests in a columned pavilion-style space overlooking the waterway and formal gardens. Smaller corporate and private gatherings are served by the Chicken Coop meeting room and the intimate Pennyworth dining space inside the Manor House. On-site catering draws from local Chesapeake Bay seafood and regional ingredients, served through the 18TWENTY Bar and Restaurant. The resort also provides event coordination, 24 guest rooms in the historic Manor House, and recreational amenities across the waterfront grounds.
