The Creswell, Creamer, Guimarin, Markaverich, and Northridge families collaborated to refurbish the Comanche County square on the north side. Two of the three structures purchased were in a state of decay and were set to be demolished. The two-story building, which had been abandoned for nearly forty years, was in fantastic condition, and the top level was a time capsule of stunning early twentieth-century design. The Knights of Pythias chapter in Comanche County used to be housed in the two-story structure. Rathbone Hall, the main event area, is named after the Knights' founder, Justus H Rathbone. The brewery closed during Prohibition and later served as a cotton mill, ice factory, and auto repair shop before falling into disrepair; museum director Jack McGregor rediscovered the building in 1971, and philanthropist Nancy Brown Negley helped lead the effort to convert it. Following a $7.2 million renovation by Cambridge Seven Associates, the museum opened to the public in 1981. Today the museum spans more than twelve acres and holds nearly 30,000 works of art representing six continents and more than 5,000 years of human creativity. After an extensive renovation, the family-owned venue opened for events in 2014, and its 38-foot wooden gambrel roof, original cathedral-like ceilings, and large stone walls remain from the historic structure. Six crystal chandeliers, rafter uplighting, and Edison bulb globe lighting illuminate the barn wood and white limestone interior, while custom white draping can divide the more than 4,200 square feet of indoor space into smaller areas.   Chef Jacques Fox was born in the North African city of "Sidi-Bel-Abbes" and raised in France by his Polish grandparents. Even before graduating from high school, Chef Jacques Fox demonstrated an early aptitude for cooking. Following high school, Chef Jacques enrolled in a two-year program at the College D'Enseignement Techniques in Tulle, France, to further his culinary education. When Chef Jacques graduated from his training program in 1975, he relocated to Paris, where he accepted his first chef position at Maison Prunier, a world-renowned seafood restaurant. In 1976, he joined Elitair Maxims, where he worked for four years before being promoted to executive chef.   River Bend Nature Center sits on twenty acres in Wichita Falls, Texas, where forests, wetlands, and gardens typical of the Rolling Plains ecosystem meet along the River Bottom Forest Trail. The nonprofit nature center offers several outdoor venues for private events, including the Elizabeth Prothro Pavilion, the J.S. Bridwell Terrace, and the Forest Ceremony Site. The 7,000-square-foot Elizabeth Prothro Pavilion overlooks 15 acres of bottomland forest and accommodates up to 500 guests, making it suited to large wedding receptions, galas, and corporate gatherings. Nearby, the J.S. Bridwell Terrace offers an open-air setting planted with native vegetation for up to 200 guests, while the wooded Forest Ceremony Site, built around a rustic arbor of native wood branches, provides an intimate backdrop for ceremonies of up to 130 guests. The Rotary North Library serves as a bridal or groom preparation room for renters using the grounds. Rentals include tables, chairs, and a sound system in the Pavilion, and outside catering is welcome since the center does not operate an on-site kitchen. River Bend books events up to a year in advance across grounds that are also home to attractions like the Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory and the United Children's Garden.

Following the State of Texas guidelines for safety during the Corona Virus outbreak is strongly recommended for all guests and patrons attending Miller's Creek Rustic Events. Located on an 8-acre property, Miller's Creek Rustic Events features a beautiful country footprint with flowers, walking trails, lighted trees and other amenities such as a farm-style gazebo, a decorated red barn, and a small grape vineyard. Wedding tables, round tables (with linens), wedding chairs, various styles of furniture, an indoor/outdoor bar and patio with special lighting, as well as a variety of other accessories are included in the rental of this barn. Simply provide your catered food and beverages, and you will have a memorable event for both you and your guests to remember. We make every effort to keep our venue as reasonably priced as possible in order to make event planning as affordable and stress-free as possible. When you book your event with us, we require a $500 deposit and will provide you with an easy monthly payment plan after you sign the contract.
