Due to our Annual Pumpkin Fest & Adult Haunted House, we cannot accommodate private weddings during the months of late September and October. At special request, we can accommodate a November wedding, however the property will be unavailable for weddings from the months of December through March. Fishermen's Inn is a historic all-inclusive wedding and events venue set on 20 acres in Elburn, Illinois, about an hour west of Chicago. The centerpiece is a barn built in 1898 and meticulously renovated to preserve its 30-foot barn wood ceilings and massive beams while adding modern amenities. The property encompasses seven spring-fed ponds, a working historic Mill House with a water wheel, cascading waterfalls, and manicured gardens — providing a backdrop for both indoor and outdoor celebrations. The Main Lodge anchors the property for larger gatherings, accommodating up to 250 guests on its main level. Forty farmhouse tables made from reclaimed barn wood and 400 mismatched wood chairs are available to couples at no additional charge, alongside four cocktail tables and an assortment of barn decor. The bridal party may use the farmhouse on the property to prepare before the ceremony. Outdoor ceremonies are also possible on the grounds, and the venue works with licensed caterers of the couple's choosing. In 2015, The Barn was built to give the property a permanent home for receptions and celebrations, pairing rustic exterior character with an elegant interior designed for weddings and private events. The 7,000-square-foot Great Hall accommodates up to 350 guests and features exposed wood posts, a wood ceiling, vinyl plank flooring, three custom chandeliers, and a wall of grand windows overlooking the gardens. The space transitions naturally from indoor ceremonies in front of those windows to full reception use. A large covered patio provides a cocktail-hour gathering spot where guests can step outside later to enjoy the evening under the stars. The venue is heated and air-conditioned for year-round comfort and includes two private wedding suites for pre-ceremony preparation, a professional catering kitchen, an in-house bar program, and on-site event coordination. Abbey Farms is unique. We are not like the other farms - we like to think that our guests step back in time a few years.... We offer something a little different than the other farms - no Fall season haunting themes, no electronic games, just clean old-fashioned outdoor family and group fun. All of our events are fundraisers for the Monks of Marmion Abbey. All proceeds from Abbey Farms enables the continuation of the various ministries performed by the Monks, as well. Abbey Farms is also almost completely volunteer run! Current Alumni from Marmion High School and parents of current students all come out to help run our festivals for the monks. Having been in the business of creating family traditions for more than 50 years, the monks pride themselves on providing good ol’ fashioned fun for the entire family that won’t break the bank! Abbey Farms is a non-profit farm run by and for the Monks of Marmion Abbey located in Aurora Illinois started back in 1949. Since the first Christmas tree was planted in 1949, Abbey Farms has transformed into a multi season family-oriented farm. Situated on over 300 acres of beautiful farmland, Abbey Farms is one of the oldest farms open to the public in the area. From monk-grown U-Cut and Precut Christmas trees to the soon to be worlds 2nd largest corn maze (2014) - when it comes to old-fashioned family fun, we have it all!
