The American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) is America's official national museum, education center, and repository for self-taught and intuitive artistry, located at 800 Key Highway in Baltimore's Inner Harbor neighborhood. The museum occupies three historic buildings filled with original visionary artwork, and its exhibitions weave together art, science, philosophy, humor, and social justice in ways that make AVAM a singular backdrop for private events. For celebrations, AVAM offers three distinct rental spaces across the museum campus. The Jim Rouse Visionary Center is a three-floor venue accommodating up to 400 guests for seated dinners, with its first-floor Visionary Village ideal for cocktail hours among kinetic sculptures and its third-floor banquet room featuring beamed ceilings, skylights, and a staging area with screen and projector. The Sculpture Barn and Garden is a dramatic indoor/outdoor space available late March through Thanksgiving, seating up to 130 guests or hosting up to 250 for standing receptions, with a checkerboard dance floor, stage lighting, and a Wildflower Garden with a Meditation Chapel. Harrison's Harbor Watch has been a landmark on the Ocean City, Maryland waterfront since 1984, when brothers John and Hale Harrison opened the restaurant as the next chapter in a family hospitality legacy tracing back to 1884. The two-story, 444-seat seafood restaurant is built around large timber columns and beams and filled with nautical décor and historic photographs that preserve the maritime character of the inlet. The dining room and event spaces offer unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean, the commercial fishing harbor, Assateague Island Maryland State Park, and the Ocean City inlet — a setting where guests have been known to spot wild horses, dolphins, pelicans, and recreational boats from their tables. When you get married at the Morrison-Clark Hotel, which is conveniently located in the heart of Washington, DC, you can take advantage of its rich history, great gastronomy, and impeccable service standards to create the wedding of your dreams. The Morrison-Clark opened its doors in 1987 following a restoration effort overseen by William Adair (who was also in charge of the White House's repairs) of two Victorian town houses erected in 1864 by the Morrison and Clark families and held by the Morrison and Clark families. The Soldiers, Sailors, and Marine Club was established in 1930 by the Women's Army and Navy League, who purchased the town homes and converted them into a military housing facility for military personnel passing through the nation's capital. Although the Club was known for hosting silver teas and Sunday coffee, it was also a popular gathering place for high society women such as First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady Admiral Dewey, and First Lady Calvin Coolidge, among others. In 2013, the hotel launched an extension project to integrate the adjoining Parsonage and Chinese Community Church into its premises, as well as an 18th Century Carriage House, thus enriching the rich heritage present inside our walls. Wicomico Shores Golf Course is an 18-hole public course owned and operated by St. Mary's County Government, set along the Wicomico River in Mechanicsville, Maryland. The clubhouse overlooks the river, the course's wooded fairways, and abundant local wildlife — a waterfront backdrop that makes it a memorable backdrop for private events. The Riverview Banquet Room accommodates up to 175 guests and shares that same scenic setting, with views of the river and the 18th hole. The room can be reserved in full or divided for smaller gatherings, making it a flexible option for weddings, receptions, corporate meetings, anniversaries, and private parties. An on-site events team works with clients from initial planning through event day. Adjacent to the banquet space, the Riverview Restaurant has served the community for more than 40 years. The facility also includes a public boat ramp and a 150-foot fishing pier on the Wicomico River.
