The Presidio Chapel is near the Inn at the Presidio, the Golden Gate Club, the Observation Post, the Officers' Club, and The Palm Room on the Main Post, the Presidio's cultural core. St Francis of Assisi (the namesake of San Francisco) is depicted alongside many historical personalities who helped develop the present stronghold on this site in Victor Arnautoff's famed fresco, which was produced in 1935. The fresco was painted before the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, and you can see the Army Corps of Engineers debating the ideas on the right side of the wall. Willemina Ogterop (1881-1974), the first woman stained-glass artist west of the Mississippi to be inducted into the Stained Glass Artists Guild, designed the remarkable stained-glass windows. Ogterop was a multiculturalist who was involved in a number of peace and humanitarian groups and believed that everyone should practice compassion, which is a philosophy that many SF couples adhere to. As guests drive up the quiet road to Elliston Vineyards, they are greeted with the impressive site of our Neo-Romanesque mansion, while our staff awaits their arrival at our wrought-iron gates. Garden-style ceremonies are held outdoors alongside our historic stone mansion in a garden brimming with native ora including an expansive lawn and gazebo. Vineyards and wine barrels surround the ceremony, while a gorgeous hundred-year tree provides shade for guests. The Melody is a historic church repurposed as a ready-to-use event venue suitable for receptions, weddings, meetings, conferences, performances, and gatherings. The venue features in-house audio and state-of-the-art lighting to instantly adapt the space to suit your event's theme. Our venue can accommodate 350 people standing, 150 people seated for meals, and 200 people in a theatre-style layout. We can provide chairs for up to 180 people. Additional furniture such as cocktail tables and rounds can be arranged for your event for a rental fee. Originally completed in 1880 then destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and fire. A reconstructed Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in the Mission Revival style was consecrated on April 14, 1912. The interior is decorated with frescos in Renaissance and Baroque style by Luigi Brusatori, an Italian master painter, which was completed in 1916. The Church also contains the largest unaltered 19th-century mechanical pipe organ in California. Declared a historic landmark, The Melody retains all of its original beauty while now hosting events ranging from large-scale corporate meetings and conferences, trade shows, product launches, auctions, screenings, performances, weddings, and private parties.
