Kirtland Country Club occupies the former Leo Doro Farms, the estate of Mrs. Henry A. Everett, whose 1910 stone mansion serves today as the Club's Tudor-style Clubhouse. Stockholders purchased the property in 1920, and the Club formally opened on July 9, 1921. A fire destroyed the original Clubhouse in 1975; it was rebuilt and reopened the following year, then renovated again in 2008 to add the Club Room and restore the West Porch's fireplace and French doors. A private, member-owned club in Willoughby, Ohio, Kirtland hosts wedding ceremonies and receptions either inside the Clubhouse or on the lawn overlooking its formal gardens.
