Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned estate winery and tasting room located in the El Pomar District sub-appellation of the Paso Robles AVA on California's Central Coast. The Merrill family brings more than eight generations of agricultural heritage and California grape-growing history to every bottle produced under this label. Dana Merrill identified the El Pomar Road vineyard property in 2002, and the winery released its first vintage that same year. The family spent six years earning SIP (Sustainability in Practice) certification before opening the tasting room in 2008 and the production winery in 2011. Today, all estate wines are farmed exclusively by the Merrills, with select premium blocks sourced from Santa Barbara and Monterey Counties through their sister company, Mesa Vineyard Management. The winemaking program is led by Jim Shumate, a former Cal Poly pilot winery director with deep enology expertise. It is operated by Aramark as an authorized concessioner of the National Park Service. History It was built in 1867 and is a California Historical Landmark because it was the first non native residence to be constructed in Crockett. The Carquinez Women's Club has been caringly preserving the integrity of this beautiful home over the years, and it is currently being maintained and controlled by the organization. It has been in the care of the Carquinez Women's Club since 1974 that the Old Homestead and gardens are maintained. The Crockett Lions Club was the driving force behind the extensive restorations. New window coverings, interior painting, a disability ramp, a bathroom addition, the repair of the former bathroom, and more were all done as part of the remodeling project. Several organizations, including the Crockett Community Foundation, C&H Sugar Company, and the Carquinez Women's Club, all graciously contributed to the success of these initiatives. Northern California Historical Event Venue The Old Homestead and Gardens' natural beauty, along with the rich history of the property, makes this ideal setting a popular destination for a variety of events, from casual barbecues to elegant weddings. The garden's attraction is enhanced by the fact that it is surrounded by a lovely woodland area and a quaint period residence, creating a sense of intimate privacy. The Old Homestead is a proud monument to the past, and those who pass through its gates become a part of its long-held history of hospitality. Events must start at dusk after the Golf Course is closed. KIKUYU LOUNGE This space is the perfect area for a small gathering or cocktail hour. The Gray Matter Museum of Art is more than just a collection of artworks. It has been planned that our design will be used to promote live artist workshops, outreach activities, and special engagements. We are a meeting and event space located in the historic uptown district of Whittier, California, where country comfort meets industrial chic. Four Bricks will assist you in creating memories that will last a lifetime. Because of its location at the intersection of Greenleaf Avenue and Hadley Street, which served as the site of the original Whittier Town Center, it was referred to as the "Four Bricks" by residents of the community. We hope that, in the same way that Whittier's Four Bricks became the heart of the community, the Four Bricks will serve as a second home for the community that Whittier has grown to be in the same manner. In recognition of our commitment to preserving and celebrating the history and heritage of Whittier, we chose this name for our organization.
