One of the most stately and exquisitely designed historic homes in Charleston, South Carolina, is the Governor Thomas Bennett House, which was built around the year 1825. It is available for use in a variety of settings, including business gatherings, private parties, luncheons, wedding ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners. The Governor Thomas Bennett House is a stunning and historic location that embraces all of the allure that historic Charleston has to offer. Whether you are planning a grand wedding or an intimate elopement, the Governor Thomas Bennett House is an excellent choice. Your outdoor wedding ceremony will look picture-perfect when held in our Crescent Garden, which features a pineapple fountain and is shaded by an oak tree that is more than 200 years old. Immediately after the ceremony, the attendees will be welcomed into the House for the cocktail hour. The reception will take place outside on the Side Lawn, which is located next to the Crescent Garden. On the day of the wedding, the home and grounds are available for use by the wedding party and guests in their entirety. The appropriate area for you to get ready for your big day is provided by a Bridal Suite located on the second level and a "Man Cave" located on the ground floor for the groom. You may hold a huge celebration on the Side Lawn, a smaller reception with cocktails on the Piazza, or a seated meal in the Crescent Garden surrounding the fountain. There are several possibilities available for your upcoming gathering at the Governor Thomas Bennett House. The House is situated in the heart of the downtown area, a short distance away from the majority of the city's main hotels, convention centers, and points of interest. Our conference room has recently undergone renovations, and as a result, it now offers a meeting space that is both historic and distinctive. The Bennett House Conference Room is found on the ground level right off the courtyard, and it provides a quiet area for your board or committee to meet with a group capacity of up to 24 persons. A wireless and audiovisual connection, facilities that are accessible to people with disabilities, and complimentary parking close to the House provide the ideal environment for meeting the requirements of your group or organization to the fullest extent. The House, the Piazza, and the Courtyard all offer separate areas that may be used for meals and receptions respectively.

  • Featured photo from Colonial Lake Park

    Colonial Lake Park

    Charleston, SC, USA

For more than 150 years, Historic Colonial Lake has been a well-liked gathering and recreation area on the peninsula of Charleston. All throughout the day, people jog and stroll around the park. This tidal pond is frequently used by fishermen. The park contains a lot of open green space, a seating wall along Rutledge Avenue, and various benches. One of Charleston's prominent public areas underwent a $5.9 million restoration, which was completed in early June 2016 to great fanfare by the Charleston Parks Conservancy. The Conservancy and the City of Charleston collaborated on the project as a public-private collaboration. Work on the project was started by the Conservancy and its Park Angel volunteers in the gardens surrounding the lake. 20,000 new plants were initially brought to the park by the Conservancy. The Conservancy preserved the love of history in the Lowcountry while introducing a fresh horticultural aesthetic to Colonial Lake. The ultimate objective was to design a garden that changes with the seasons and captures the history and natural beauty of the Lowcountry as well as some of Charleston. Major open space, more trees for shade, improved pathways, and more area for walking and running are some of the park's additional advantages. The number of places for tourists to rest and take in the view of the lake and gardens has increased substantially in the new park, which includes roughly three times as many benches and a seat wall along Rutledge Avenue.

The imposing Hibernian Hall is undoubtedly not an exception, as are many of Charleston's most illustrious public structures. Many of the biggest events in our nation's history were launched from these locations. It's possible for visitors to Charleston to pass by this regal but generally conservative building due to its prominent location along Meeting Street, in the center of the historic district, and next to the breathtakingly gorgeous Washington Square Park. Hibernian Hall is one of ancient Charleston's most underrated but intrinsically fascinating sights due to its past and stylistically distinctive architecture. Hibernian Hall, a prominent location in the center of the historic district, is a must-see on any walking tour of downtown Charleston. The experience at 82 Queen is the peak of the Lowcountry. From the moment your guests walk inside our historic restaurant, they will feel as if they have gone back in time. For a typical Lowcountry occasion, many of our gorgeously designed dining rooms date back to the early 1700s. Original artwork by late Charleston artist John Carroll Doyle adorns our walls, creating the perfect Lowcountry atmosphere in each dining area. In the midst of our restaurant, a 300-year-old enormous Magnolia tree stands tall, surrounded by a turn-of-the-century courtyard that features Charleston's most charming, scenic backdrop. Our distinctive Lowcountry cuisine, which was originally pioneered right beneath our roof, is a perfect match for our 300-year-old address. Serve award-winning delicacies made by our seasoned Chef and presented with nothing but Southern charm to your guests. Whether you're throwing a private party, a rehearsal dinner, a wedding reception, a baby shower, an anniversary, or a birthday celebration, 82 Queen will make sure every detail is taken care of! Trista Hoffman, our Special Events Coordinator, will ensure that your next event is a success. Three restaurateurs developed a vision in 1982 to create a dining experience that was uniquely "Charleston," with a focus on fresh, local cuisine and courteous service. They had the perfect location in the Historic French Quarter, with three buildings and a garden courtyard, but they couldn't come up with a name. With the urgency of launching looming, Harvey Poole, Joe Sliker, and Chef Steve Kish agreed to name the restaurant after the street location. As a result, one of Charleston's oldest and most renowned restaurants was born... Queen number 82! One may imagine that a 39-year-old spectacular original would be lost in the shuffle as Charleston's culinary culture gains international attention and hot young chefs launch trendy new restaurants. Customers seeking an authentic Lowcountry experience continue to fill 82 Queen's 11 dining rooms as it sticks to its original objective of serving fresh local cuisine.

  • Featured photo from The Exchange

    The Exchange

    Charleston, SC, USA

After many months of research, planning, and renovation, the Exchange finally opened its doors in January of 2019. It originated from the wish to establish a productive space for the mobile workers who live and operate within our densely populated and rapidly expanding community. The office and co-working space was purposefully designed to inspire and connect people, making it an ideal setting for the hard-working minds that are concentrated in our enormously influential region. We are the type of self-employed individuals who are looking for a reasonable office space. The rapidly expanding team of a startup that is not quite ready to move into a corporate office. The person who believes they can "work from home" but finds out there is no such thing in reality. The real estate agent, attorney, or business networker who requires executive office services. Do you require a large amount of space for the event? The Exchange is more than 5,000 square feet in size and features hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, a grand fireplace, beautiful porches, and a variety of other amenities. When you combine that with dressing rooms, a kitchen, a wet bar, and parking, you have everything you need to host a wedding, a business event, or a private party in the near future.

    Le Farfalle

15 Beaufain St, Charleston, SC 29401, USA
    • Spaces for 80-100 Guests
    • 1 Restaurant

For groups of 40 to 80 people, the entire restaurant can be reserved for the evening. Depending on the day and time of year, food and beverage minimums range from $14,000 to $25,000. A cocktail party can accommodate groups of 80-100 people, however a seated meal can only accommodate 80 people. Unfortunately, groups of 21-40 people cannot be accommodated. Because the patio is not an all-weather patio, it cannot be hired or reserved, and its availability cannot be guaranteed. Michael Toscano, a co-founder, grew up wanting to be a professional golfer but discovered his passion for cooking while working at a golf club in high school. Michael won a scholarship to attend an American Culinary Federation Apprenticeship held by North Carolina's legendary Pinehurst Resort, rather than pursue a golf career. He relocated to New York City after graduating and worked at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery before landing a job as a sous chef at Mario Batali's Babbo at the age of 21. Michael was named executive chef at Eataly's Manzo, the Italian food mecca's fine-dining restaurant, after four years at the famed restaurant. He opened Perla, a modern Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village, as the Chef/Owner in 2012, and it has garnered numerous honors, including Esquire's Best New Restaurants in America, New York Times Two Stars, and Time Out New York Best Italian Restaurant. Michael eventually took over the kitchens at Jeffrey's Grocery, a seafood restaurant, and Montmartre, a modern French cafe, both of which are part of Happy Cooking Hospitality. Michael has been named a "New York Rising Star" by StarChefs.com, a Zagat 30 Under 30 semifinalist, and a semifinalist in the James Beard "Rising Star Chef" competition. He is also a member of the Williams Sonoma Chefs' Collective. Michael and his wife Caitlin came to Charleston, South Carolina with their two children Julian and Marley in the summer of 2015 to begin the next chapter of their lives. Caitlin Toscano, Farfalle’s other co-founder, grew up in the Pennsylvania mountains and moved to the sandy beaches of Miami when she was 16 years old. She has been a dedicated member of the hotel sector since graduating from Johnson and Wales University with a culinary arts degree, and she has been driven from the start. It was only the beginning when she finished her externship at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, where she met Michael. She and Michael packed their belongings into a minivan and drove to New York City after cooking their way through the resort. Caitlin immediately established herself as a front-of-house operations specialist. She's worked at some of New York City's most prestigious restaurants, including Tom Colicchio's flagship Craft and Thomas Keller's 3 Michelin-starred Per Se. She went on to work as the opening General Manager of Eataly NYC's fine dining restaurant, Manzo, where she swiftly raised the service standards at Mario Batali's 4 New York Times starred Italian restaurant, Del Posto. She took a brief career break at the moment to focus on parenthood, but she is thrilled to be managing at her own restaurant once more.
