Shadowbrook Restaurant sits on the banks of Soquel Creek in Capitola-by-the-Sea, California, where it has welcomed guests for fine dining and private events since 1947. The restaurant's origins trace to a 1920s log cabin that was discovered, restored over three years, and opened as a 50-seat dining room — growing over the decades to include a hillside cable car (added in 1958), a riverside deck, a wine cellar, and a renovated redwood bar. The venue has been recognized as the "Most Romantic Restaurant" in Northern California by San Francisco Focus readers. For private events, Shadowbrook offers four distinct dining rooms that accommodate gatherings from intimate dinners of 9 to combined receptions of up to 100 guests. Our Story: Our winery was inspired by the lovely green hills and vineyards that surround Lake Del Valle. Del Valle Vineyard is a new, family-owned winery in California's gorgeous Livermore Valley, one of the state's oldest wine districts. Pío Pico State Historic Park preserves the restored adobe home of Pío de Jesus Pico, the last Mexican governor of California, on a five-acre property in Whittier that was once part of his 9,000-acre Rancho Paso de Bartolo. The site is registered as California Historic Landmark No. 127 and offers a rare window into mid-19th-century California history. The grounds feature the fifteen-room adobe residence with interpretive displays, a traditional horno (bread oven), a dovecote, and historic gardens — making it a distinctive outdoor setting for weddings, ceremonies, and private events. The property is ADA accessible and includes restrooms, parking, and picnic areas. Special events are coordinated through the Los Angeles District Special Events team, and the park's events team handles availability, pricing, and permitting for private rentals.

In the heart of Little Italy, on India Street, Ristorante Illando is within walking distance of the Porto Vista Hotel & Suites, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego Downtown, The Trolley Stop, Maritime Museum, San Diego County Administration Center, and Waterfront Park. Situated steps from a Marine Protected Area, the facility offers a genuinely distinctive backdrop for private events — one where tall-ship replicas dock at the working wharf and ocean views frame nearly every space. Four distinct event venues span a range of guest counts and atmospheres. The Samueli Conference Center & Courtyard seats up to 180 guests beneath vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, while the open-air Surf Deck delivers 180-degree ocean views for more intimate gatherings of up to 80. The Maddie James Maritime Wharf places events directly on the waterfront, overlooking the harbor and the Institute's historic vessels.
