Wedding Chapel Our wedding chapel, also known as the Hambrick Chapel, was built in 1857 as part of the Roseland Plantation grounds. The interior was entirely restored after a fire in the 1950s, with air conditioning and heating, excellent lighting, ceiling fans, and historical stained glass windows and pews. The Roseland Plantation Wedding Chapel is the ideal location for your dream wedding. We are convinced that your wedding will be one to remember at our chapel. Ballroom Around 1850, the Roseland Plantation Ballroom served a plantation near Mineola, Texas. The building, with its pine and parquet wood flooring and large columned front porch, was moved to Roseland Plantation in the 1950s to serve as a pool house for her guests. A restroom, a full kitchen with a private caterer's door, and an enclosed sun porch were constructed. The ballroom can accommodate 120 guests for a buffet or hors d'oeuvre reception and 60 guests for a sit-down dinner. The extra-large front porch increases the amount of seats available. Our family built the entire barn and landscape by hand. Brides can choose between getting married in our lovely wooden barn or on our outside arbor. There's also a deck that looks out over a large koi pond with an illuminated fountain, which offers a lovely background for any wedding day. The site is set on 50 acres of land that was once a tree farm. Spring wildflower meadows, big dogwoods, flowering pink crab apples, and Chinese Pistache that turn gorgeous shades of scarlet and orange in the fall were all planted in rows decades ago. On your wedding day, we do our best to make things as convenient and uncomplicated as possible. The rental price includes the rooms, kitchen, reception, and outside areas. Brides will spend two hours on property with their photographer for bridal portraits prior to their wedding day. For $2,000, we put together a ceremony-only package for up to 50 guests. This includes the venue, the bridal suite and groom's room, the sign-in table, and the usage of our vintage chairs, among other things!   Thistle Hill is the most spectacular cattle baron era estate that has been preserved, and it is also one of the most prominent residential landmarks in Fort Worth. Thistle Hill is a Georgian Revival home that exemplifies the architectural magnificence of Fort Worth's affluent pioneers. The neighborhood where it is located was formerly known as Quality Hill. In the year 1904, Albert Buckman Wharton, Jr. and his wife Electra Waggoner Wharton, who was the daughter of a wealthy cattleman named W.T. Waggoner, moved into this home that was 11,000 square feet and included 18 rooms. The home was remodeled by Sanguinet and Staats in 1911, after Elizabeth and Winfield Scott bought the estate for $90,000 and commissioned them to do so. The original house had been designed by Sanguinet and Staats. The primary bulk of the house is a gambrel-roofed structure that is two and one-half stories tall and has semi-circular bays on either side. The mansion is accentuated by towering chimneys as well as a massive porch that has limestone columns. The roof is covered in glossy green tiles, and the walls are elaborately framed in cast stone. The outside is red brick. The foyer welcomes guests with a grand staircase and abundant woodwork as two of its prominent features. The enclosed gardens of 1.5 acres, which include a magnificent carriage house, have been preserved. In 1975, the home was included in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1977, it was recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and in 1978, it became the first Historic and Cultural Landmark in Fort Worth.

  The Hummingbird House

  Horticultural expert Tom Tinguely lived in his country home for 25 years, manicuring his gardens and nurturing carefully chosen plants and flowers with love. In 2009 he moved downtown to be closer to his garden center, a South Congress landmark called The Great Outdoors. He stayed at the country home on the weekends, often hosting private parties for his friends and family. When Tom’s niece was engaged that same year, she searched for the perfect outdoor venue in Austin, and Tom graciously offered his magnificent gardens to host her wedding. Tom’s partner Danny Hatt, who coordinated events in Charleston, South Carolina moved to Austin in 2009 and he was eager to jump on board to take on the planning aspects of the wedding. His eye for style added the touches that transformed a small garden party into an elegant event and his experience in event coordination made the wedding a successful and memorable occasion. This garden wedding inspired Tom and Danny to open The Hummingbird House together and our first couple, Nadine and Andy, became husband and wife on April 10th, 2009! Since then, The Hummingbird House has hosted hundreds of events including weddings, charity events, anniversary parties, birthday celebrations, vow renewals, elopement galas, holiday gatherings, corporate events, graduation parties, and photo shoots!
