Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum

The Ford Avenue Piquette Plant was built in 1904 by the fledgling Ford Motor Company. It was here that Henry Ford would produce several car models- including his most famous automobile- the Model T. Once outside the plant's walls, the Model T started a revolution that would put the world on wheels. OUR ORGANIZATION The Model-T Automotive Heritage Complex, Inc., (doing business as) the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, was organized in 2000 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for the purpose of preserving the Plant and keeping it from being demolished. Open year round as a Museum and education center, the plant now attracts visitors from around the world. It provides special programs and events for bus tours, families, and scores of people attending public and private events from car shows to weddings. The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant (FPAP) is managed by a Board of Trustees and volunteer committees. The historic site is financially self-supported. It is not affiliated with Ford Motor Company or Ford Foundation.

The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (KIA) is a community art museum and studio art school in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan, with a permanent collection and rotating exhibitions that set a cultural backdrop for private events. The KIA hosts a range of gatherings — from corporate meetings and alumni dinners to wedding receptions — in spaces that open onto its galleries and sculpture areas. Mill Race Village is a living history museum and event venue operated by the Northville Historical Society on the banks of the Rouge River in Northville, Michigan. Established in 1972 on land donated by Ford Motor Company, the village preserves a collection of 19th-century structures — including a church built in 1845, a gazebo, blacksmith shop, general store, and interurban train station — offering a uniquely historic setting for weddings and private celebrations. The centerpiece for ceremonies and receptions is the New School Church, a Greek Revival structure from 1845 that has been restored and is heated, air-conditioned, and handicap accessible via an electric lift at the rear. It accommodates up to 80 guests for seated dinners and up to 120 for receptions. The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) occupies a 22,000-square-foot historic auto dealership on Woodward Avenue in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood, originally designed by architect Albert Kahn in 1907. Reimagined by architect Andrew Zago, the building preserves its industrial character through open, layered gallery interiors where contemporary art and private gatherings share the same dynamic space. For private events, MOCAD offers two distinct rental options. The MOCAD Café seats up to 130 guests and accommodates 250 standing, with a setting defined by raw and painted brick, warm light wood, contemporary furnishings, and a dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass door. The full museum rental accommodates up to 905 guests, placing celebrations against a backdrop of rotating contemporary art exhibitions spanning the entire building. Events ranging from weddings and corporate product launches to automotive reveals and nonprofit receptions are supported by in-house A/V services, valet parking, coat check, and alcohol service. MOCAD extends discounted staffing and usage rates to fellow nonprofit organizations.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum, founded in 1854, is one of Michigan's oldest cultural institutions and the first accredited museum in the United States. Housed in the Van Andel Museum Center on the west bank of the Grand River, the museum holds approximately 250,000 artifacts spanning science, history, and culture — including the beloved Streets of Old Grand Rapids exhibit, the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium, and the Cook Carousel Pavilion. For private events, the museum offers flexible rental configurations across its three exhibition floors. The Galleria — a formal event hall with a dance floor — anchors the first floor and accommodates up to 350 guests for cocktail receptions alongside The Streets of Old Grand Rapids exhibit. Kalamazoo Nature Center is a 1,100-acre nonprofit nature preserve and environmental education campus set in the wooded, rolling countryside five miles north of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Founded in 1960 to protect Cooper's Glen — a site of centuries-old cultural significance where Native Americans camped and early settlers built homes — it is one of the earliest nature centers established in the United States, recognized by peers as among the top facilities of its kind nationally. For private events, the center offers a varied collection of indoor and outdoor rental spaces suited to everything from intimate meetings to large celebrations.
