The Arbor at Dogwood Park is a lovely nature-themed event center in the heart of South Tyler. There is something for everyone at this venue, which caters to both large and small gatherings. Built in 1870, the Giddings Stone Mansion sits on a hilltop near downtown Brenham, Texas, with views in every direction. The historic home is operated by the Heritage Society of Washington County alongside the neighboring 1843 Giddings Wilkin House, and it's used both for historic home tours and as a rental venue for weddings and private events. The mansion's eleven rooms, five bathrooms, 13-foot ceilings, and original fireplaces give indoor gatherings a period backdrop, while broad verandas wrap around both the upstairs and downstairs of the house. Leaded glass doors open the veranda for ceremonies, and groom and bridal party dressing suites are available on site. The grounds extend well beyond the house itself: the surrounding lawn can hold up to 1,000 guests, with tent options available for larger outdoor receptions. Chateau Bellevue is a Victorian-era mansion in downtown Austin, built in 1874 and expanded in 1892 under owner Major Ira Hobart Evans, a Union Army veteran and the youngest Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. Its stained glass windows and intricate wooden detailing make it one of the last remaining examples of Victorian architecture in the city, and it holds both Texas Historic Landmark (1965) and City of Austin Historic Landmark (1974) status. The venue has been owned and operated by the Austin Woman's Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, since 1929. The mansion offers a sequence of spaces for weddings and private events, from the Grand Entryway Foyer with its stained glass and hand-carved woodwork to the Grand Ballroom, which seats up to 175 guests beneath hardwood flooring and a raised stage for a band or DJ. Outdoors, the brick Ceremony Courtyard seats up to 165 guests facing its magnolia tree, or up to 150 facing the Chateau itself, with an adjoining terrace suited to cocktail hour. Limestone entryways and balconies overlooking the downtown skyline offer additional backdrops for photography. Founded in 1958 by the Junior League of Longview, the Longview Museum of Fine Arts (LMFA) has grown from a small annual art invitational into a cultural cornerstone of East Texas. The museum has been located on Tyler Street in downtown Longview since 1998, and its permanent collection has grown to nearly 1,200 works, including paintings, woodcuts, photographs, sculpture, and works on paper, centered on early Texas Regionalist art from the 1930s through the 1970s. Adjacent to the museum, the Pelaia Plaza JT Smith Sculpture Garden offers an outdoor gallery with a performance stage, landscaped grounds, and outdoor sculpture, serving as a green-space gathering spot in the heart of downtown Longview.
