Canyon Ranch Woodside
Canyon Ranch, the pioneering company that pioneered integrative wellness, began with the pursuit of wellness by a single man, long before the term "wellness" became common use. Since then, that goal has inspired a business, but more importantly, it has encouraged innumerable individuals to pursue their own individual conceptions of what constitutes wellness. Canyon Ranch guides your lifetime well-being down a road of proven answers with its four immersive destinations and integrated team of professionals. Mel Zuckerman took the key decision to change his sedentary lifestyle in 1978, long before the wellness industry became a multi-trillion dollar industry. This decision was made in 1978. He understood after two weeks of living a healthy lifestyle that he had permanently changed his life, and he wanted to assist others in making the same change. This objective was initiated in 1979 when the first Canyon Ranch location, located near Tucson, Arizona, initially welcomed guests. This pioneering wellness resort was the first of its type to use an integrative approach, drawing on holistic methods, therapies, and evidence from both western and eastern traditions to address the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit.

Ghiradelli Square
Ghirardelli Square, considered the first successful adaptive reuse project in the country, has a history that spans more than a century and covers three continents. This specialty retail and dining complex, housing shops and restaurants, was originally a chocolate factory established by Domenico “Domingo” Ghirardelli.Born in 1817 in Rapallo, Italy, Ghirardelli served as a Genoa confectioner’s apprentice and at a young age developed a strong interest in the business. He left for Uruguay when he was 20 years old, then sailed around Cape Horn to Peru where he became a coffee and chocolate merchant.James Lick—Ghirardelli’s neighbor in Lima—left for San Francisco in January 1848 taking 600 pounds of Ghirardelli’s chocolate with him. He arrived just thirteen days before the first shiploads of gold-rush pioneers. Lured by his friend’s tales of the gold rush, Ghirardelli joined Lick a year later and opened a general store supplying mustard, coffee, spices and, of course, chocolate. Between 1852 and 1895, Ghirardelli’s Chocolate Factory was located at four different sites before the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company took over the Pioneer Woolen Mills on North Point Street—today’s site of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Manufactory & Soda Fountain and Ghirardelli Ghirardelli delights visitors with its lively retail mix, while maintaining Ghirardelli’s tradition as a trendsetter for the rest of the world. In 1982 the owners applied for and were granted National Historic Register status, a move that ensured the preservation of Ghirardelli Square for future generations. Always on the cutting edge of retailing in the United States, Ghirardelli Square continues to serve as a model for restoration complexes throughout the country such as Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston and Baltimore’s Harborplace.

The land was a gift from the Mexican Governor of California, Pio Pico, who had previously given similar large parcels of land to friends and patrons of the governorate. It was one of more than 800 so-called Mexican Land Grant ranches that were awarded during a romantic period of history known as the "Days of the Dons," during which the Dons ruled the land. Charsaw Farms
Charsaw Farms is a family owned lavender farm launched in 2021 in Napa, California. They make handmade oils, tinctures, soaps and baking goods from the lavender they grow and harvest by hand. In 2006, Doug and Julie Thompson took a chance on a 3.5 acre piece of property in Napa, California with the dream of making it a home and gathering place for friends and family. After years of hard work, renovations, building additions, land development and countless games of bocce ball and pickleball, they succeeded in making this plot of land a truly wonderful place to live. They raised their 4 children, hosted several weddings, and housed friends and family on Napa get-a-ways in wine country. Nine grandchildren later and much debate over what the next chapter of life looked like, Julie and Doug decided to turn their family home into a lavender farm to share the beauty of the property with everyone. Along with two of their daughters, Elizabeth and Mollie, the Thompsons launched Charsaw Farms, named after Liz’s daughter Charley “Char” and Mollie’s daughter Sawyer “Saw”. They celebrate family, healthy living and the natural beauty of Northern California. Elizabeth brings a culinary aspect to the company, as she enjoys experimenting with lavender and baked goods. As most of her desserts surpass mom and her two sisters’ abilities, it was a no brainer to have Liz’s culinary skills utilized. Mollie adds an agriculture background after studying Agricultural Business at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Her knowledge of the wine industry, and tourism in the area, have assisted the family in sales strategies. Staying at the Charsaw Cottage gives their guests a remarkable and spacious place to host an intimate wedding. Looking West you’ll have thousands of lavender plants backed by a setting sun. To the North, South and East, your guests will enjoy the views of the famous Carneros Wine Growing Region. The perfect backdrop for your perfect day. Charsaw Farms offers a desired wedding ceremony location overlooking the vineyards, a large grass space which allows for one long table or multiple round/square tables, a deck which provides a dance floor and ample space for a DJ or band, two gas fire pits and a gazebo typically used as a bar. Their experience with weddings in the past has been nothing short of amazing.
