  HISTORY OF THE VENUE The Brake & Clutch building was constructed in the 1930s and served as the home of Brake & Clutch Service Co. for many years before closing in the 1980s. It stood empty for years, waiting to be converted into the space it is now! The venue, which launched in 2017, is run by a mother and two children who designed it expressly for special gatherings. The towering ceilings, industrial atmosphere, and high-end finish lend themselves to basic and elegant styles, as well as anything in between. We preserved the name and the original character throughout the space because it was previously known as Brake & Clutch Service Company. It has been completely transformed into a wedding and event facility. Beautiful lighting, furnishings, and accents have been used to bring exposed brick, concrete floors, and wooden beams to life. Every room has been meticulously planned and arranged to provide the best possible environment for you and your guests. The venue was founded in August 2017 and is owned and run by a family. Our sole caterer is CN Catering. Our entrance is on Exposition, near the elephant painting, on the extreme end of Deep Ellum on Main Street & Exposition! When our culinary and photographic services are combined, we can provide a complete turnkey solution for any special event or occasion. The antique hardwood floors and 15-foot brick walls of the venue provide as a stunning background for any theme or event. Two 8-foot butcher block top bars, two 12-foot butcher block top buffet tables, lantern centerpieces, cocktail tables and round and rectangular tables are included in the main room's 110-by-40-foot footprint.   It was originally constructed in 1904 for the C.H. Alexander family and is an unusually well-proportioned design of English influenced architecture with a neo-classical influence that is still standing today. The Dallas Woman's Forum purchased the building in 1930, and it was refurbished and redecorated in 1967. The front columns, which are made of Vermont granite and are two storeys tall, are a focal point. The gateway roof is supported by the columns, and the entablature that surrounds the roof is basic in design. The porch is reached through a set of wide stairs, with built-in benches flanking either side. The massive double doors with patterned beveled glass are a thing of breathtaking beauty. The nostalgic setting of a turn-of-the-century mansion is the perfect backdrop for a variety of events including weddings and receptions, luncheons and teas, bridal and baby showers, holiday parties, formal dinners and cocktail parties, corporate events and organizational meetings.
