    Birdsong

1085 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA

"Because each new generation is unable to comprehend what was taken from them, they are willing to settle with less and less of the genuine article as time goes on." The name Michael Frome Three things: sustenance, identity, and art. Although it encompasses all of those things, the core notion that underpins our cooking is that food is a vehicle for the transmission of values, knowledge, and tradition. The methods in which we cook are influenced by the situation in which we find ourselves, both in terms of space and time. This helps us hold on to the knowledge of the past while leaving opportunity for development as our perspective of the world changes. On our menu, we emphasize using foods in the most unprocessed and natural state that we are able to locate them in. This almost often refers to seasonal produce, which, as a result, indicates that the foods in question are at their peak of quality and taste. The fact that we can eat properly because of the sacrifices made by those who raise local veggies and entire animals brings this home to us. When we carry out our work, we recognize the weight of that obligation, which we respect and carry with us. Cooking is a way for us to honor the people who provide us with nutrition, our heritage, and our craft, and most importantly, the food that we create. When you walk out of Birdsong, we want you to feel the same way that we do—a little more connected, a little lighter (in spirit), and a little more happy and delighted than when you went in. Every occasion enhanced with Birdsong becomes more special and unforgettable. Our Reservations Page has a link that can be used to make reservations for groups of four or less people. Please click the link below for any enquiries involving more than 4 guests, and a member of our staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

    16th Street Station

    San Francisco, CA, USA

West Oakland, California's 16th Street Station is a historic landmark that dates back to the late nineteenth century. At this time, we are not renting the interior space of the building, and we are only renting the area immediately surrounding the building. As a backdrop, the site boasts a magnificent Main Hall that is truly breath-taking. The 16th Street Station will no longer be taking any rental commitments for events that will take place within the Station. Rental of outside areas is still available. Please inquire. The 16th Street Station, which opened on August 1, 1912, marked the beginning of West Oakland as the city's gateway. The Station, which was constructed for $300,000 by the Southern Pacific Railway and designed by Chicago architect Jarvis Hunt, was built by the railroad for $300,000. That same year, the Station was featured in Western Architect magazine. The Station served as the western terminus of the transcontinental railway system, and was the last stop on the Western line. Even as recently as the 1950s, Southern Pacific was one of Oakland's most significant private sector employers. By the 1960s, the railroad company had realized that their primary source of revenue was freight transportation rather than passenger travel. However, in the early years, the usage was quite different from what it is today.

CCC's programming spans contemporary art exhibitions, thought leader seminars, and festivals including the Chinatown Music Festival and Hungry Ghost Festival. Hannah Nicole is a place where farming and winemaking are intertwined. In our opinion, quality wine begins with high-quality grapes grown in a well-managed vineyard. Our winemaking is focused on retaining that quality throughout the winemaking process while also producing wines that are real and fascinating for both wine specialists and newbies to the world of wine. Sustainable farming practices are used on our 54-acre vineyard, with a significant emphasis placed on minimizing environmental effect and increasing biodiversity. KG Vineyard Management and John Derr Vineyard Consulting provide guidance on all aspects of vineyard management for us. We like to work by hand, and we prefer to work slowly and meticulously in order to avoid any significant mechanical influence on the vines. It is important to handle irrigation carefully, and many blocks are dry farmed in order to slow maturity and increase concentration. Our vineyard is planted with all red Bordeaux varietals, as well as Grenache and Mourvedre for some Rhone Spirit and some new world Petite Sirah. We also have a little amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. The white varietals grown on the land include our world-renowned Sauvignon Blanc as well as Viognier. Hannah Nicole Vineyards is the ideal location to host your next private or business event or gathering. In order to accommodate both large and small parties, we provide a wide choice of friendly and pleasant venues. Intimate family gatherings, business meetings, graduation celebrations, baby showers, team outings, bride showers, and high school reunions can all be held at Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery, which is available year-round and in a variety of settings.
