  Perched on the southwest slope of Red Mountain in Benton City, Washington, Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard sits in one of the state's most celebrated wine-growing regions, officially recognized as its own American Viticulture Area in 2001. Owners Keith and ReNae Pilgrim began clearing the 300-acre property by hand in 1992, planted the estate vineyard the following year, and released their first estate-produced vintages in 1997. The winery's Tuscan-inspired stone building, completed in 2006, includes barrel caves built from repurposed cement cylinders from the LIGO project, along with a tasting room and a terrace overlooking the estate vineyard and the Yakima Valley below.   Her inaugural journey, as a member of the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet, took place on June 11, 1922, and she arrived in Seattle on June 14, 1922. The Mosquito Fleet was the world's first regional ferry system, linking coastal communities around South Puget Sound in the early twentieth century. It was through steamship that people were carried between the burgeoning port cities of Seattle and Tacoma, as well as produce and cattle from farms on Vashon Island. In the years 1922 to 1938, the VIRGINIA V served as the principal line between Seattle and Tacoma, operating via the West Pass (also known as "Colvos Passage"), which ran between Vashon Island and the Kitsap Peninsula. The S.S. VIRGINIA V is the final operating example of a steamer from the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet, and it is still in service today.   Meridian Valley Country Club opened its doors for the first time on July 1, 1967. Despite the fact that there was just a temporary clubhouse and only nine of the 18 holes were available for play on that Saturday morning, those who teed it up did so again and again. Despite the fact that the fairway grass was well on its way to reaching full maturity, the theme of the day was "Take No Divots" since all shots were needed to be taken from tees. The opening day regulation had no effect on the level of competitiveness on the first day.
