EVENTS Mt. Defiance is the perfect location for your next private or group event, wedding, or other special occasion. With a big area and facilities, our lovely Cider Barn can accommodate gatherings for up to 200 people. Wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and family pictures can all be held on our expansive porch and patio. Our Philosophy Cider is finally reclaiming its rightful place as America's table drink, a position it had during Colonial times and for much of the nineteenth century to the present. The different schools of thought about cider are evident today, particularly in Virginia where we obtain our apples and produce our cider: from the traditional farm cideries where classic cider apples are pressed and the juice fully fermented with only yeast added, to the cutting edge cider makers who are influenced by the craft beer movement and infuse their ciders with a riotous blend of new and historic natural flavors. Our Ciders are made in small batches. When it comes to our Cidery, Mount Defiance is extremely proud to offer both classic and craft ciders. In addition to traditional farmhouse blends of dry cider and single variety cider, we enjoy infusing fresh ginger for a seriously ginger-flavored cider, as well as a full spectrum of infused and co-fermented ciders ranging from honey (cyser) to blueberries to our five pepper cider, which is designed to withstand barbecues. Every season comes with it a new set of flavors to tempt our clients. Since we feel that there should be a cider to fit a wide variety of tastes and food pairings, our style may best be described as eclectic and approachable. Fauquier Springs Country Club sits along the Rappahannock River seven miles southwest of Warrenton, Virginia, on the site of a mineral-spring resort founded in the late 1700s by Captain Hancock Lee. Before the Civil War, the property's grand hotel, known as the Pavilion, hosted Presidents James Monroe, James Madison, and Martin Van Buren, along with Chief Justice John Marshall, in a four-story hall with a 4,000-square-foot ballroom. Today the Club pairs that history with a full slate of amenities, including a golf course, swimming pool, and dining and banquet rooms used for weddings, business meetings, and receptions. Its Grand Ballroom and Springs Room both open onto an outdoor terrace overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and couples can exchange vows at the Hilltop Gazebo, a replica of the original gazebo that stood on the grounds since the early 1800s. Membership is not required to book an event at the Club, and its in-house catering team provides food and beverage service for every gathering.

1757 Golf Club sits on a scenic golf course in Dulles, Virginia, pairing a private championship course with a public driving range and the newly renovated Fifty-Seven Taproom. Open since 2009 and owned and operated by Heritage Golf Group, the club has earned multiple "Best of Loudoun" awards for its staff and amenities. The 16,000-square-foot clubhouse can host up to 225 guests and offers a range of spaces for weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, banquets, and corporate events, from the Grand Ballroom and Washington Room to the more intimate Monroe Room and Barton Suite. An outdoor terrace with two patios overlooks the greens, giving couples a scenic backdrop for a ceremony or reception. Rippon Lodge is a Prince William County historic site built circa 1747 for Richard Blackburn, making it one of the oldest surviving homes in the county. Set on 43 acres above the Potomac River, the property includes formal gardens, walking trails, and the Blackburn and Atkinson family cemetery, with a history that spans colonial tobacco production, Revolutionary War-era politics, and a family connection to George Washington's nephew by marriage. The home was updated in a Colonial Revival style beginning in 1923 and remained with descendants of its original builder until Prince William County acquired it in 2000. For events, Rippon Lodge offers grounds rental with vast lawns and outdoor gardens overlooking the Potomac River, suited to weddings and receptions of up to 150 to 200 guests under large reception tents. Music is permitted, and couples may bring in a caterer of their choice, with wine, beer, and champagne allowed under proper permits. Guided tours of the historic home can be arranged for guests on the day of an event with advance notice.

A Visit to a Flower Farm Wollam Gardens is a cut flower farm located in Jeffersonton, Virginia, 60 miles west of Washington, D.C. On our 11 acres, we grow a wide range of unusual perennials, annuals, trees, and shrubs. Designers, specialized florists, locally focused businesses, and farmers' markets in the D.C. area rely on our flowers. For weddings and other special occasions, we offer personalized floral design. It's a joy to create with all of the lovely things in our lives! Come see us! In our beautiful pavilion, we've hosted weddings, workshops, festivals, yoga, and educational activities. Visiting in the year 2021 During daylight hours, the farm is open to tourists every day of the week. Please keep in mind that we are a functioning farm with a production focus, and our employees may be out in the field. We'd be pleased to put you in the right way, but we don't have anyone on staff who can give you a tour. Take a self-guided tour and have a picnic at one of the tables near the pavilion, or wherever you choose to spread a blanket. Dogs that are well-behaved and on a leash are welcome. Please eliminate any rubbish and debris. Visitors are not permitted to select their own flowers. When strolling through cultivated regions, please be cautious. Between April and October/November, the roadside farm stand is filled with grab-and-go flowers Wednesday through Sunday, and the greenhouse has plants for sale. If you manage to catch us in the middle of market prep on Friday or Saturday afternoons, we'd be delighted to create a bespoke arrangement for you!
