Lillian Farms Country Estate sits on 230 acres of rolling hills in Texas's Bluebonnet Country, on land that was once a cotton plantation, between Houston and Austin near Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park and the towns of Chappell Hill and Brenham. The Estate House combines the architecture of a Victorian-style mansion with modern comforts, offering five traditional bed & breakfast guest rooms, each with a private en suite bath and a full breakfast served every morning in the main dining room. For more privacy, the property's self-catering cottages sit near the edge of its woods; seven have private hot tubs, and all include full kitchens and grills. Built in 1870, the Giddings Stone Mansion sits on a hilltop near downtown Brenham, Texas, with views in every direction. The historic home is operated by the Heritage Society of Washington County alongside the neighboring 1843 Giddings Wilkin House, and it's used both for historic home tours and as a rental venue for weddings and private events. The mansion's eleven rooms, five bathrooms, 13-foot ceilings, and original fireplaces give indoor gatherings a period backdrop, while broad verandas wrap around both the upstairs and downstairs of the house. Leaded glass doors open the veranda for ceremonies, and groom and bridal party dressing suites are available on site. The grounds extend well beyond the house itself: the surrounding lawn can hold up to 1,000 guests, with tent options available for larger outdoor receptions. The Barnhill Center is located in Downtown Brenham, Texas, at the Historic Simon Theatre. The Barnhill Complex is a multi-purpose conference and event center located midway between Houston and Austin. The Simon Theatre, which opened in 1925 and was designed in the majestic Beaux-Arts Classical Revival architectural style, provided a magnificent venue for many theater events, film screenings, and ballroom dances. To create the theatre for the city of Brenham, the James Simon family commissioned Houston architect Alfred C. Finn, whose career included creating a number of important Houston buildings as well as the San Jacinto Monument. Today, thanks to a multimillion-dollar refurbishment, the glitz and opulence of the historic Simon Theatre is preserved for future generations in the Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre. Let your creativity go wild with weddings, corporate events, and family gatherings. Our Story The trees attracted us when we first walked into the land that would become Dos Arbolitos. A unique mix of towering bull pines, large post oaks, pin oaks, burr oaks, and live oaks grew alongside massive post oaks, pin oaks, burr oaks, and live oaks. The forest was alive with birds and there were acres of yellow coreopsis. Our goal has been to make this incredible setting our home while maintaining the natural beauty and calm that drew us to the property in the first place. We wanted to retain the solitude, tranquility, and serenity of the old forest by surrounding our new home inside it, as well as develop and conserve the unique woodland setting we had fallen in love with. We wanted to capture the sounds and sensations of the woods while also honoring the land and paying homage to early twentieth-century Texas. Everything we did in the construction of Dos Arbolitos was done with a distinct feeling of care. We tried to remember that special feeling we had the first day we walked onto the land and were calmed by the cool breezes in the middle of summer, enchanted by the choir of birds singing in the virgin forest, and eventually swept away by the natural woodland beauty of this place we knew would become our home with each step we took. Now we want to share Dos Arbolitos' beauty and peace with others.
