Houston Aquarium's 6,000-square-foot Nautilus Ballroom boasts customizable menus, experienced event coordinators on staff to assist with décor, A/V, and entertainment, as well as breathtaking views of the downtown Houston skyline. Downtown Houston Aquarium's Nautilus Ballroom has a private wrap-around balcony, and a beautiful cylindrical aquarium tank in the foyer. The Retreat at Artesian Lakes spans more than 100 acres of East Texas pine forest on the edge of the Big Thicket National Preserve, about an hour north of Houston off Highway 59. The property's interconnected Artesian-fed lakes provide a natural backdrop for ceremonies, and its blend of woodland scenery and rustic architecture suits couples drawn to a nature-focused wedding setting. Weddings and receptions are hosted at the Hilltop Restaurant & Wedding Garden, which pairs a lakeside dining room with an adjoining garden featuring stone retaining walls, a water fountain, a grassy lawn, and a wrought iron ceremony arch. The space accommodates up to 150 guests and includes two meeting rooms, a private dining room, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the lake and surrounding woods. The Wynden can accommodate Rehearsal Dinners, Ceremonies, and Receptions. There is charming indoor seating for up to 250 people whether it be for a seated dinner or a buffet service. Brenner's Steakhouse offers a variety of prix fixe meals as well as buffets, carving stations, and served hors d'oeuvres to suit a variety of budgets. The restaurant has a beautiful garden area with waterfalls and a pavilion that is ideal for weddings, receptions, and other special occasions. BURGUNDY ROOM With wine storage, creative artwork, and views of our operating wine cellar, this is a cozy spot. This area can seat up to 22 people for a seated dinner and up to 30 people for cocktails and served hors d'oeuvres. GARDEN ROOM A distinct dining room with mahogany French doors, gorgeous drapes, original artwork, and spectacular views of our lush surroundings. The Garden Room has its own door, patio, and bathrooms. This space can sit 64 people for a seated meal or 100 people for cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres. WATERFALL PATIO You may celebrate a private event for two or a roaring get-together for up to 24 guests in the middle of our garden, bordered with foliage and waterfalls. GARDEN LOUNGE & GARDEN GAZEBO The freshly remodeled Garden Lounge features plush seats, a stately gazebo, and magnificent gas fire pits. The Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park preserves ten historic structures on a landscaped campus in downtown Houston, spanning architecture from the pre-statehood era through the early twentieth-century oil boom. A 501(c)(3) museum organization dedicated to telling the diverse history of Houston and Texas, the campus also serves as a setting for weddings, receptions, and private events. Rental spaces range from the Gothic Revival-style 1891 St. John Church to open-air settings like Connally Plaza and the Bagby Street Front Patio, both backed by downtown Houston's skyline. The 1847 Kellum-Noble House, the oldest building on its original foundation in the city, hosts smaller dinners and receptions, while the Museum Gallery and Tea Room offer indoor space for larger gatherings.
