In 1836, Judge John Harris erected the residence as his townhouse. He possessed a huge property in Covington that was robbed by federal troops in 1864 when Sherman's march to the sea got underway. Sherman and Harris kept journals detailing their thirty-day stay at the Harris Plantation, which may be found at the Atlanta History Center. Following the Civil War with the property changing hands, Robert Franklin Wright purchased the property for $1,000. The Cedars is the name Robert and Salina gave to their home. They renovated the mansion's interior and built a boxwood garden on the back. Your event will have plenty of space both outside and indoors. We enjoy our wedding business at Beautiful Beginnings Farm, and we're excited to announce that we're expanding. We decided it was time to brick in the pavilion and install some wonderful rustic windows that can be left open if desired. It is equipped with a heating and air system as well as additional tables to seat up to 185 people. This also provides us with a better backup plan in the event of adverse weather. If rain is expected, the ceremony might be held in the Pavilion. We're ecstatic about our progress and can't wait to tell our potential clients about it. Atlanta's newest wedding location, The Mill at Yellow River, is unlike any other! Located in Porterdale, Georgia, in the Porterdale Mill Lofts, a charming neighborhood of live-work spaces. Conyers and Covington, Georgia are just minutes away from The Mill at Yellow River, which is located off I-20. The ancient Mill, which is situated on the banks of the Yellow River, exudes charm and character that your guests will appreciate. A magnificent garden and a spacious outdoor patio are also available at The Mill at Yellow River. A 1,200 square foot bride's loft with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sitting area, a full kitchen, and a patio that overlooks the Yellow River is also available. We also have access to the Yellow River, which provides spectacular photo opportunity. The Yellow River roars as you go through the rocky terrain. The Lofts are at the entryway to rural Georgia, about thirty minutes from Atlanta and a few miles between Covington and Conyers. They display vintage materials and craftsmanship. Much of The Mill at Yellow River's construction still uses heartwood from mature southern yellow pines for support beams. These trees, sometimes known as longleaf pines, are now extremely rare and virtually always protected, making the production of beams like these nearly difficult. Original maple flooring may be found in several of the Mill's corridors and residences. These floors, which have now been thoroughly restored, have survived seven decades of intensive industrial use and 35 years of neglect. Willowick Farm can host your wedding or special event in our gorgeous horse barn, pastures with 100-year-old oak trees, bridal house, man cave, watering hole, and several detailed structures. Not to mention the option of riding one of our lovely horses. 70 acres of manicured meadows with undulating hills sprinkled with ancient trees around our lovely huge barn. The majority of our outdoor wedding ceremonies take place in front of our magnificent gazebo or under these majestic Oaks. Willowick is located in McDonough, Georgia, 30 miles southeast of Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Hotels, bed & breakfasts, and restaurants are all close to Willowick Farm. THE GAZEBO The gazebo, which is located within our outdoor arena, provides a lovely background to the undulating hillside, pasture, and grazing horses. This venue can easily accommodate up to 100 people. THE BARN Willowick Farm is a working horse farm with over 20 horses and 3,200 square feet of usable space. While majority of our receptions are held outside, our brides prefer the barn because of its beauty and distinct appeal. THE ARBOR The lovely arbor and surrounding area have been transformed into the perfect setting for your post-ceremony cocktail reception. With its lovely flowers and convenient location between the ceremony and reception areas, our high top cocktail tables are sure to keep your guests happy and occupied as the wedding party finishes their photos. THE WATERING HOLE Willowick Farm's newest and coolest addition! During your reception, it will undoubtedly be the focal point. It's in the middle of everything, between the big barn and the outdoor arena, and it's easy to get to from either reception area. With its bespoke bar top, handcrafted chandelier, and wall art constructed from 1949 automobile doors, this 1956 feed bin is sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Emily Tichenor saved several original items from storage in the servants' quarters, including the Governor's carved mahogany bed, and repaired them at her home studio. The fact that the house, unlike many other house museums, was occupied by the same family until a little more than a decade ago adds to its allure. Today, the McDaniel-Tichenor House serves an essential role in Monroe and Walton County as a source of civic pride, a meeting place for its citizens, and a key educational resource, serving as a reminder of a simpler time that was once upon a time not so long ago. The Engine Room is a one-of-a-kind event facility in historic downtown Monroe, Georgia, housed in portion of the Monroe Cotton Mills, which housed the engines that powered the mill machinery for 90 years. The hardwood floors, exposed brick walls with worn paint, heart of pine columns, iron bars covering a few of the windows, and major entrances with historic sliding fire doors have all been repaired and kept intact in the building, which has been a part of Monroe's history since 1895. This completely accessible, climate controlled space is one of the largest in Walton county, with modern comforts like as a full service commercial catering prep kitchen, updated industrial chic restrooms, and a huge bridal suite. The Engine Room's 6,400 sq ft main hall can accommodate groups of up to 400 seated or 500 standing people, but it may also be partitioned to accommodate smaller wedding ceremonies and receptions. With the old brick mill building and its surrounding towers acting as a magnificent backdrop, the expansive outdoor lawn provides an acre and a half of green area for ceremonies, parties, and picnics. The Engine Room also has a tucked-away outdoor patio for receptions and short ceremonies in a secluded open-air setting. Weddings The Engine Room is Monroe's newest and most interesting Special Events venue, providing both value and beauty. The Engine Room, with over 15,000 square feet of total area, can accommodate weddings of all shapes and sizes. The Engine Room boasts a single venue space of over 6,250 square feet, fully accessible space and facilities, climate control, a full-service caterer's kitchen, abundant parking, a secluded outdoor patio alcove, stunning hardwood floors, and an intimate old mill setting. Tables and chairs are included in the rental, in addition to these features. There are no vendor requirements in the Engine Room. While we can recommend some excellent merchants, all renters are free to choose their preferred vendors.

The authentic 1900’s Dairy Barn has been renovated to include all modern conveniences, while still keeping all the elegant and rustic elements. The property includes an Entrance Hall, Bridal Suite and multiple unique outdoor ceremony locations. The Dairy Barn can seat up to 250 guests. 9 Oaks Farm also has onsite lodging. There are three lovely houses: the historic White House, Red House, and Tin Barn, that can all be rented the night before or night after your wedding. Make it a wedding weekend!
