The modern barn has central heating and air conditioning, so no matter what the weather is like outside, you and your guests will be comfortable. Swan Lake Overlook is a magnificent wedding and event location located on the shores of Swan Lake. It is on 225 acres of land that has been in our family for more than 100 years that we have built our venue. All of the well-known mountain elements may be found in our picturesque views of the North Georgia Mountains, which overlook the entire region. We are conveniently located just north of Atlanta, making us the ideal mountain destination wedding venue just outside the city limits. A variety of ceremony locations are available on our property, as well as a huge interior event space that can accommodate up to 300 guests. You might be surprised to learn that we are actually a deer farm with unusual deer species. On our land, there are about 80 Sika and Fallow Deer that are allowed to graze freely. Forrest Hills Mountain Resort is a family-owned destination resort set on 140 acres of North Georgia forestland near Dahlonega, a historic gold rush town at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Founded in 1977 and built from the ground up by siblings David and Denise Kraft, the resort has grown into a full-service event destination hosting more than 125 weddings annually alongside corporate retreats, family reunions, and group gatherings. The property offers a range of ceremony and reception venues suited to gatherings of different sizes. The Chapel in the Woods seats up to 120 guests for indoor ceremonies, while the outdoor Wedding Garden accommodates 60 to 150 guests. The Barn at Tatum Acres is a 75-acre farm venue tucked into the North Georgia mountains near Big Canoe, about an hour from downtown Atlanta. The property began as a family farm — Doug Tatum famously closed the deal on a napkin with a one-dollar bill — and was transformed into an event destination under the creative direction of interior designer Lynda Tatum, who designed the barn using timber harvested from the land itself. The centerpiece is a rustic-modern red barn with white trim, built from trees felled on the farm, that blends authenticity with a polished aesthetic. An adjacent covered stables structure, a hilltop cottage with screened porches and mountain views, and outdoor gathering areas including a fire pit, covered porch fireplace, and handmade stone smoker round out the property. The setting is well suited to weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, and private retreats.
