The Monk Ranch is a historic working farm and wedding venue set on 160 pastoral acres along Silveyville Road in Dixon, California, about 30 minutes from downtown Sacramento. Established in 1876 and now operated by the fifth generation of the founding Monk family, the property is surrounded by almond orchards and evokes the quiet character of Solano County's countryside. The ranch offers two complementary event spaces for intimate gatherings of up to 100 guests. The Ceremony Garden is a shaded outdoor setting filled with blooming flowers, overhanging trees, and planters, centered on a redwood arch altar with a small ground waterfall. The historic Reception Barn — painted barn red and over 120 years old — features open-beam ceilings, twinkle and market lighting, round tables, wooden chairs, and a dance floor. A barn breezeway serves as a cocktail space, complete with a rustic bar and barrel tables. Additional amenities include a bridal cabin with comfy seating and salon stations, a walnut tree swing, golf cart shuttle service, and a "Collection Container" stocked with rustic décor items available to borrow. Lone Tree Golf & Event Center has been a popular among Bay Area golfers since it opened its doors in 1934. The sloping topography, which lies at the foot of Mount Diablo State Park, affords amazing views of the surrounding Delta region. The course's layout combines ample landing zones that promote playability with fascinating green complexes that provide just the right amount of difficulty for players of all skill levels. The occasional errant tee shot may necessitate navigating mature Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pine trees that can be found in the rough portions of the course. Fern Cottage is an intimate event venue operated by the East Bay Regional Park District, nestled amongst ferns and groves of redwood trees within Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area in El Sobrante, California. Once a park residence and later a senior center, the 1,000-square-foot cottage sits on a landscaped property featuring two outdoor decks and a private enclosed backyard with a lawn and garden — an easy-to-miss woodland retreat within the East Bay hills. The cottage accommodates up to 60 guests for seated receptions indoors and up to 130 guests overall, making it a natural fit for micro weddings, celebrations, bridal and baby showers, small workshops, and retreats. The interior features two rooms arranged in an L-shape, a cozy gas fireplace, and a full kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, six-burner range with oven, and microwave. A covered back deck (30 by 16 feet) and a front deck (16 by 20 feet) extend the usable space outdoors into the surrounding eucalyptus and redwood setting. Temescal Beach House is a historic lakeside event venue in Oakland's Temescal Regional Recreation Area, situated along the shores of Lake Temescal near the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 24. The structure was built by the Works Progress Administration and opened to the public in 1940, originally serving as changing facilities for park visitors and the original headquarters of the East Bay Regional Park District. Today the venue is managed by the East Bay Regional Park District and welcomes weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, fundraisers, and private celebrations. The Beach House offers two connected indoor rooms and a large outdoor flagstone patio. The Fireside Room seats up to 56 guests around a gas fireplace, while the adjoining Lakeview Meeting Room seats 24 and features large windows framing views of the calm lake. Together the rooms accommodate up to 80 guests seated or 130 standing. The wraparound flagstone patio — bordered by a vertical garden with panoramic lake views — serves as a popular ceremony and reception extension.
