Farmington Polo Club sits on 80 acres in the heart of Connecticut's Farmington Valley. This historic equestrian estate looks out over manicured polo fields, gardens and Avon Mountain. It's home to the Hunter/Jumper and Polo disciplines, and exhibition polo matches run on summer Saturdays from June through September. The club has indoor and outdoor spaces for events of almost any size. Couples can say "I do" at the garden Gazebo or the Pergola, then walk the stone pathways to their reception. Reception options include the Aqueduct Room, which seats up to 200 guests, and the Clubhouse Dining Room, which seats up to 380. Both have a private patio. Hill-Stead Museum is a National Historic Landmark set on 152 acres in Farmington, Connecticut. The Colonial Revival estate was designed in 1901 by Theodate Pope Riddle — one of the first licensed female architects in the United States — in collaboration with the renowned firm McKim, Mead & White. Theodate transformed Hill-Stead into a public museum upon her death in 1946, preserving the house, its Impressionist art collection, and the surrounding landscape exactly as she intended. The estate offers six distinct event spaces suited to a wide range of private celebrations, from intimate indoor gatherings to sweeping lawn events for up to 350 guests. Outdoor venues include the West Lawn and Veranda with panoramic views of the Litchfield Hills, the former grass tennis court enclosed by handcrafted stone walls, and the Beatrix Farrand-designed Sunken Garden in bloom from spring through autumn. Indoor options include the Arts and Crafts-style Makeshift Theater, the glass-walled Glass Room overlooking the kitchen garden, and the antique-appointed Pope Board Room. Ann Howard at The Bond Ballroom occupies the penthouse floor of Hartford's historic Hotel Bond building, a landmark originally constructed in 1913 and expanded in 1921. After decades of varied use, the ballroom reopened as an event venue in 2001 and has operated under its current ownership since 2017, bringing award-winning catering and customized event planning to one of the city's most distinctive spaces. The 5,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom features three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows with views across the Hartford cityscape and the Connecticut State Capitol, a crystal chandelier, and a 20-by-40-foot dance floor — one of the largest in the state. The newly renovated Arches Cocktail Room accommodates up to 300 guests for pre-reception gatherings or standalone events. An on-site chapel provides a ceremony option within the same building.
