Blue Ball Barn is a historic two-story stone structure at Alapocas Run State Park in Wilmington, Delaware, available for private events, corporate meetings, and celebrations year-round. Originally constructed in 1914 by Alfred I. du Pont as a dairy barn to supply his nearby Nemours Estate, the property was acquired by the State of Delaware in 1999 and renovated beginning in 2004. It holds the distinction of being the first public building in Delaware to achieve LEED certification. The barn is organized around several distinct spaces: a large open banquet room set within the original hayloft, spacious reception and meeting rooms on the ground level, and a secluded outdoor courtyard. Together these areas accommodate up to 250 guests. Permanent galleries throughout the building showcase the Delaware Folk Art Collection, featuring more than 120 works by Delaware artists, giving the venue a cultural dimension that distinguishes it from conventional event spaces. Events may be held any day of the week between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., with indoor furniture included in the event cost. Built in 1724, the historic home was once the residence of Revolutionary War General Anthony Wayne, and its Chester County grounds bring an "oasis of calm and historic charm" to weddings and private events, accommodating up to 250 guests with onsite parking for roughly 175 vehicles. Couples can choose indoor or outdoor ceremony space, with separate areas set aside for cocktail hour and reception. The venue's open-air tent has a clear roof, textured concrete flooring, and a checkerboard dance floor, with a built-in sound system and optional air conditioning for year-round comfort. Operating since 1745, the General Warren Inn is a historic tavern-turned-inn in Malvern, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Chester County's Great Valley. The property began as the "Sign of Admiral Vernon" and later took its current name in honor of Dr. Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War figure killed at Bunker Hill; over the centuries it has served as a stagecoach stop on the Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike, a Seventh-Day worship gathering point, and a temperance hotel before its 1984 restoration brought back its 18th-century character. Today the inn combines eight guest suites with several distinct event settings, including a main dining room, the Warren Tavern, and the Spring House Terrace, a secluded outdoor space built around a 275-year-old springhouse. The terrace's lower level is partially enclosed and heated for year-round use, while "Table 1745," set inside the historic springhouse itself, offers intimate seating for up to six guests with full bar and restroom access nearby. The General Warren hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, private parties, and corporate events, with an on-premise pastry chef available for custom dessert and wedding cake menus. Since 2024, the tavern has been owned and operated by the Ashby Hospitality Group. The Figure 8 Barn sits on the grounds of Bellevue State Park, a 271-acre former DuPont family estate tucked into suburban Wilmington, Delaware. The barn takes its name from its distinctive hourglass shape — an architectural curiosity designed by William du Pont, Jr. as an indoor horse training facility for the family's equestrian interests. Delaware acquired the estate in 1976, and the barn has since become one of the region's most flexible large-event venues. The barn's 32,000 square feet of open space can accommodate more than 3,000 guests and can be divided for more intimate gatherings. A raised dance floor and stage anchor the main floor, while large bay doors provide easy access for oversized equipment, themed installations, and trade show displays.
