The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is a working campus for the development of new American theater, set on a sweeping waterfront property in Waterford, Connecticut overlooking the Long Island Sound. Founded in 1964 by George C. White, the O'Neill has spent six decades as the country's preeminent organization dedicated to developing new works and new voices for the stage — earning Tony Awards in 1979 and 2010 and the National Medal of Arts in 2016. Productions first developed here include *In the Heights*, *Avenue Q*, *Fences*, and *The Piano Lesson*. The campus opens to private events from late August through spring, offering eight distinct rental spaces that range from a 300-guest outdoor garden with views of the Sound to an intimate Victorian mansion with parlor rooms and an outdoor patio. Hill-Stead Museum is a National Historic Landmark set on 152 acres in Farmington, Connecticut. The Colonial Revival estate was designed in 1901 by Theodate Pope Riddle — one of the first licensed female architects in the United States — in collaboration with the renowned firm McKim, Mead & White. Theodate transformed Hill-Stead into a public museum upon her death in 1946, preserving the house, its Impressionist art collection, and the surrounding landscape exactly as she intended. The estate offers six distinct event spaces suited to a wide range of private celebrations, from intimate indoor gatherings to sweeping lawn events for up to 350 guests. Outdoor venues include the West Lawn and Veranda with panoramic views of the Litchfield Hills, the former grass tennis court enclosed by handcrafted stone walls, and the Beatrix Farrand-designed Sunken Garden in bloom from spring through autumn. The Madoo Conservancy's gardens will reopen to the public on Friday, April 29, following a two-week closure. Our beautiful, safe space will be ready to welcome you and your family and friends on a first-come, first-served basis; however, appointments will be required. Hartford Elks Lodge No. 19 occupies a landmark building in downtown Hartford that has stood at 34 Prospect Street since 1903 — the first structure ever built exclusively for use as an Elks Lodge. Established in 1883, the lodge has anchored this corner of the city for more than a century, and the building carries that history in its Victorian architecture, dark wood columns, arched doorways, and original hardwood floors. The centerpiece for private events is the Chamberlin Room, a 1903 Victorian ballroom managed through Soirée Venue and Event Management Services. The room accommodates up to 120 guests with a dance floor or 140 without, making it a workable fit for wedding receptions, private dinners, corporate celebrations, and fundraisers of varying sizes. Air conditioning was added for summer events. The lodge sits behind the Wadsworth Atheneum, a block from the Connecticut Convention Center, and minutes from both I-84 and I-91, with free parking available on site.

Ann Howard at The Bond Ballroom occupies the penthouse floor of Hartford's historic Hotel Bond building, a landmark originally constructed in 1913 and expanded in 1921. 20 civic-minded women gathered at what was then Royle School on August 2, 1923, to form the Darien Improvement Association, which was officially established the following year. It was their declared goal to "keep the town tidy, especially the public routes," as well as "get receptacles for rubbage," that they continued to convene at members' houses. They quickly grew in importance, exerting influence over the preservation of trees and the railroad embankment, advocating for home delivery of mail, supporting the town library, and taking a keen interest in the public schools. During these years, the DCA's primary focus was on providing assistance where there was a genuine need. This charitable commitment continues today, as we commemorate more than 75 years of awarding college scholarships to alumni of Darien High School in Darien, Connecticut. The Darien Improvement Association was founded in 1929, and two years later, the group changed its name to the Darien Community Association, Inc. to better reflect the community it serves. The DCA Thrift Shop opened its doors in October 1931 to provide much-needed work for local women during the Great Depression. Employees were tasked with washing and mending donated clothing, as well as repairing household items, which were then sold at extremely low costs. The Thrift Shop, which is located at 996 Post Road, is now managed by more than 50 volunteers. Originally built in 1950, Meadowlands is a historic mansion and property on Middlesex Road in the heart of the city. It was initially constructed in the Victorian architecture, but it was remodeled in the Regency style by its fifth owner in 1933, when it was purchased.
