East Midwood Jewish Center (EMJC) is a historic synagogue and event venue in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1924 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building is recognized as an outstanding example of early twentieth-century synagogue design and has played a significant role in the development of the New York Jewish community. Its landmark interiors have served as a backdrop for film and television productions, including the series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." EMJC opens its distinctive spaces to weddings, life cycle celebrations, private gatherings, business functions, and lectures. S.O.B.’s, also known as Sounds of Brazil, is a legendary live music venue in the lower Manhattan neighborhood of SoHo. It was opened by owner and director Larry Gold in June 1982. A wrap-around balcony on three sides adds 1,900 square feet of gallery and café space, encircled by original stained glass windows. In the event that you are planning a large party to commemorate a special occasion, we recommend that you consider renting the entire restaurant; our maximum seating capacity is 60 people. Two days before your event, you must do a final count of attendees. The total cost will be increased by the amount of New York State sales tax, 20 percent gratuity, and a 5 percent planning charge. To avoid a 10% cleaning cost, please book additional time for decorating and remove all decorations at the end of your planned period in order to avoid a 10% cleaning fee.
