It was founded by resident sculptor Ann Weaver Norton in 1977 as a non-profit charity dedicated to the preservation of her garden's sculptures (1905-1982). In a sprawling urban oasis of more than two acres, Norton's ancient house with exhibition halls, her studio, colossal sculptures, and tropical gardens filled with rare palms and cycads is housed. Special events may be held in the Gardens, which is a wonderful setting. It is an urban refuge with an oasis of tropical flora and exotic palms, interrupted with nine awe-inspiring sculpture.
