Overview Despite being only two stories tall and dwarfed by its surroundings, this dazzling black-and-gold terra cotta building with zigzag modern ornamentation commands attention despite its small size. Morgan, Walls, and Clements, one of the oldest continuously operating architectural firms on the West Coast and a driving force in the development of various forms of revival and moderne architecture in Los Angeles, designed the building. A notable feature of the structure is that it is one of the city's last remaining black-and-gold Art Deco structures, and that it is a scaled-down version of the firm's downtown Richfield building (built in 1928; demolished in 1968). It was originally constructed as a neighborhood branch bank, and it served in this capacity until 1970. The building was originally used as a restaurant/nightclub, and it was later converted into a Christian center. After years of disrepair, the building was beautifully restored and converted into short- and long-term creative office space for rent. It is also available for private parties and special events.

A central bar anchors the main room, with seating areas arranged around a dedicated dance floor. A coat check and scullery round out the facility. Founded by Felix Arguelles and Tanya Arguelles, the studio was designed as a creative hub for independent artists, startups, and corporate teams seeking an alternative to conventional event venues. The 3,000-square-foot space features a 25-foot ceiling height, a 13-foot storefront window with natural light and blackout capability, a fully functional kitchen, makeup and changing areas, and ground-floor access with an active driveway for easy load-in and load-out. WiFi, heating and air conditioning, and a sound system are included with bookings. The studio hosts corporate events, product launches, workshops, pop-up shops, photography and film productions, and private celebrations. From concept through completion, the Allies team works with clients to plan and execute events across all of these formats.

The venue accommodates 175 or more guests across private and semi-private configurations, with leather banquette sections that seat 10–30 per section. A fully equipped DJ booth and house sound system are on-site, and valet parking is available. Outside catering is permitted with prior coordination.
