The Maritime Hotel
363 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011, USAAs the National Maritime Union's headquarters, the nautically themed structure was originally designed by New Orleans modernist architect Albert Ledner in 1968 to serve as the union's headquarters. In the late 1940s, Ledner worked as an apprentice under the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, where he developed his own playful style. This fanciful approach to modernism was long dismissed by design purists, but The Maritime is now considered to be part of a wave of modernist architecture that is being viewed in a completely different light than it was previously. It had been open since 2003 but had undergone a transformation to better reflect its enviable location in the heart of Manhattan's fashion, art, food and business districts as well as the city's technology and creative industries. It was the first luxury hotel in the neighborhood, distinguished by its signature porthole windows, white-tiled exterior, and elevated outdoor terraces overlooking Ninth Avenue. As the modern, cool heart of Manhattan's Meatpacking District/West Chelsea neighborhood, the Maritime Hotel has maintained its position.

Union Square Park
900 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10022, USAUnion Square has been a gathering area for about 170 years—for trade, entertainment, labor and political rallies, and relaxation. The park gets its name from its location at the crossroads of two important New York City thoroughfares, Bloomingdale Road (now Broadway) and Bowery Road (now Fourth Avenue). Union Square first opened to the public on July 19, 1839. Its paths, which wind through lushly landscaped lawns, were inspired by London's affluent residential squares. The design concentrated on a big central fountain, which was constructed for the completion of the Croton Aqueduct in 1842, and accentuated the park's oval shape (contained by an iron picket fence). Union Square became a significant commercial and residential area as New York City's downtown extended northward. The grounds of Union Square have hosted a variety of public gatherings, including parades, labor protests, political rallies, and official events such as the United States Sanitary Commission's Great Metropolitan Fair in 1864. Because of its significance in American labor history, the United States Department of the Interior designated Union Square Park as a National Historic Landmark in 1997. The park line will be extended south 14th Street, and the traffic island on which the Gandhi statue now sits will be incorporated into the park.

212 Steakhouse is proud to be the first and only Japanese Kobe Beef Marketing & Distribution Promotion Association member in New York, making us the only restaurant on the East Coast serving authentic Japanese Kobe Beef. Kobe beef is a delicate, dignified sweet lean meat that is complemented by the taste and aroma of melt-in-your-mouth fat. Its so-called "shimofuri" fat marbling is the key to its delectability. At low temperatures, the "sashi" fatty component of the flesh itself begins to melt. It will virtually melt in your mouth as a result of this. Its exceptional flavor is due to an abundance of irosinie and oleic acids, which have been scientifically proven. Our location, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, offers elegance and comfort in a charming setting for a memorable wedding or a variety of events. Our professional top-of-the-line team and chefs painstakingly construct every element to suit your style and budget in order to create a memorable event. Strand Book Store
828 Broadway, New York, NY 10003, USA- Spaces for 100-200 Guests
- 1 Event Space
The Strand's Rare Book Room is a perfect venue for weddings, celebrations, and private events. Spend your special evening surrounded by rare and antique books curated by Strand's resident experts. The Strand was established in 1927 on Fourth Avenue, in the heart of what was then known as "Book Row." Book Row was a six-block stretch of land that housed forty-eight independent bookstores. Ben Bass, the father, was only twenty-five years old when he started his modest used bookstore in his hometown of St. Louis. Entrepreneur at heart and voracious reader by nature, this erudite gentleman began with $300 dollars of his own money and another $300 dollars in borrowed funds from a friend. Ben wished to create a space where books would be cherished and book lovers could congregate in a welcoming environment. After the London street where avant-garde writers such as Thackeray, Dickens, and Mill once congregated as well as interesting book publishers, he named his bookstore after the same street. The Strand quickly established itself as a Greenwich Village institution, where writers gathered to converse, sell their books, and hunt for a hidden treasure to purchase and keep for themselves. Today, the Strand is the only remaining structure from Book Row's illustrious past. Ben's son, Fred, was already learning the ropes of the family business at the age of thirteen. He, too, was a book enthusiast who quickly entered the book trade. After serving his country in the Armed Forces, Fred returned home to New York, where he continued to work alongside his father in the family business. By 1957, Fred had relocated the store to its current location at 12th Street and Broadway, which is just around the corner. Eventually, Fred found himself spending the majority of his time at the purchasing desk, cultivating relationships with regulars and on the lookout for the next great find... In the following generation, Fred's daughter, Nancy, joined her father in the family business. When she finished college and spent a brief period in Louisiana, she returned to her hometown and joined the Strand team at the age of twenty-five. Today, she manages the store and feels privileged to be able to carry on her family's 90-year tradition. It's still up in the air whether one, two, or all three of Nancy's children will be the next in line to join the Strand organization.

Le Bernardin
AXA Equitable Building, New York, NY 10019, USA- Spaces for 80 Guests
- 1 Restaurant
Le Bernardin, founded in 1972 in Paris by brothers Maguy and Gilbert Le Coze, only offered fish: fresh, simple, and prepared with respect. The Le Coze's intended to establish Le Bernardin in New York in 1986, after gaining its first Michelin star in 1976 and two more in 1980. Le Coze and Chef Eric Ripert announced the latest chapter in the restaurant's history in September 2011, with a major renovation by Bentel & Bentel. The new appearance includes a lounge, which is a first for the restaurant, with a different menu. Since then, the restaurant has won a James Beard Award for "Best Restaurant Design" in 2012 and a James Beard Award for "Outstanding Restaurateur" in 2013 for Le Coze, the first woman to be honored in the category. Les Salons Bernardin, one level above the restaurant and accessible via a separate entrance, is the ideal location for a memorable event. The area replicates the understated opulence of the main dining room, with etched glass and timber coffered ceilings. During the day, the salon is bathed in natural light from floor to ceiling windows, and in the evening, gentle lighting and the use of warm, neutral hues contribute to the mood of a genuinely stimulating location. The salon can seat two to eighty people and may be divided into multiple configurations and seating arrangements to suit different party sizes and needs. Chef Eric Ripert's and his team's carefully crafted menus may be wonderfully matched by Wine Director Aldo Sohm's wine selections. Les Salons Bernardin, in collaboration with a specialist private dining crew, will create an exceptional experience for you and your guests. Le Bernardin Privé, the newest addition to Le Bernardin's private dining offerings, is located directly across the Galleria from the restaurant. This lively venue provides a classy backdrop for a range of private parties. The dynamic design, which is peppered with contemporary art, embodies Le Bernardin's trademark style. North and South Privé are two rooms that may be merged to create a variety of combinations for different events and party sizes.
