Springwood Manor is a renovated century-old stone estate set on wooded hills just outside Pittsburgh in Verona, Pennsylvania. The property began as a farmhouse built around 1870 and was later home to horticulturist Herbert Hoechstetter, whose landscaping business shaped the grounds and whose additions—a sandstone facade, cherry wood paneling, and a fireplace mantle built from an old barn's support beams—still define the house today. A three-year renovation transformed the property into the event venue it is now, framed by Japanese larch, maples, pin oak, chestnut, holly, copper beech, and bamboo. The Manor hosts indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies, receptions, and corporate events for up to 270 guests. Ceremony sites include Garden Square, with its pergola and separate entrances for the bridal party; the Stone Patio; the Gazebo nestled among the trees; and the Glass Atrium, used for winter ceremonies. The vaulted-ceiling Pavilion, with its scissor trusses and chandeliers, serves as both a reception space for music and dancing and the venue's rain plan. A wooden, three-tier rear deck wraps the back of the stone house and connects to the surrounding grounds. Receptions include an on-site event manager, in-house chef and wait staff, full catering, and access to the entire facility—Manor House, Atrium, Pavilion, Rear Deck, and grounds—with no facility fee for events of 100 or more guests. The Villa at Springwood is an outdoor wedding and event venue set on nine acres of Springwood's rolling Penn Hills property in Verona, Pennsylvania, just outside Pittsburgh. The grounds center on two waterfalls — including a 55-foot drop over a natural stone quarry — along with a covered bridge, three ponds, a stone-lined stream, and towering evergreen and maple trees. Ceremonies are typically held at the base of the Lower Falls or at the Dome, an open-air site framed by a wrought-iron dome near the Upper Falls. From May through October, a 30' x 40' tent covers a side-yard patio connecting the pool area to the upper waterfall site, serving as both a rain plan and a setting for outdoor receptions, dinners, and dancing. The in-ground heated pool and surrounding patio offer a more casual setting for rehearsal dinners, poolside barbecues, and family celebrations. The Villa can be booked as a stand-alone venue, with its own entrance and parking separate from Springwood Manor, or used alongside the Manor for a combined ceremony-and-reception event. A separate on-site Villa Suite provides overnight accommodations for up to six guests, available for extended stays with a two-night minimum — a frequent choice for a wedding party getting ready before the event.
