The John Alden Club is a private membership organization founded in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1969. Built incrementally on Minuteman Lane over more than two decades, its facility grew from a lower-level meeting room in 1974 to an upstairs function hall in 1979 and an outdoor pavilion completed in 1991 — together spanning more than 8,000 square feet of event space. The indoor Rental Hall accommodates up to 180 guests across 4,000 square feet, with a full-service bar, private bridal suite, dance floor, and commercially equipped kitchen. The outdoor Pavilion offers covered space for 200 or more guests with a dedicated bar, cooking facilities, and a surrounding lawn with horseshoe pits and a volleyball court. Mary Cunningham bought the house in 1979 and began providing soup, sandwiches, pastries, and tea to visitors to her antique shop with the help of her sister, Barbara, and her small daughter, Abbey. The Tea Room opened in 1981, and the Crane Brook Restaurant grew into one of the best restaurants in the country. Don McKeag reopened Crane Brook Restaurant in 2004, aiming to build on the restaurant's prior success and create an exciting future for the stunning structure. Antonio Sousa and Maria Marcalo bought the Crane Brook Restaurant in November of 2018, with the intention of restoring it to its former splendor. The Back Patio can be covered with a tent, heated, or left open to take advantage of the beautiful blue skies. All our homes are Located in the outer portion of Cape Cod in the small towns of Eastham and East Orleans. Eastham is a great town for vacations in Cape Cod. With the town only being a couple of miles wide, you are not far from the Bay or Ocean. The Bay offers great walking/exploring of the flats at low tide and is an easy walk from our rental properties and the ocean is only a short drive or bike ride away. Our homes in Eastham are within walking distance to the Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path. Also close by is the Hemingway Landing, where you can dig your own shellfish, or drop a small boat and go striper fishing in Town Cove. Down the road is the Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre that offers the infamous flea market by day and movie by night. Provincetown is only a 20- to 30-minute drive away and a great place to book a Whale Watch. There are several festivals that occur in Eastham and the surrounding towns throughout the year. There are also numerous hiking trails at the Wellfleet Audubon Society nearby and a one of a kind experience at the National Seashore. East Orleans, is home to Nauset Beach, the first longest National Seashore Beach, accessible by car. You are able to get a beach pass to drive on the beach but you must plan ahead. The Captain Morse House, a beautiful piece of Edgartown's history, was built in the Greek Revival style in 1840 and is a National Historic Landmark. Captain Morse sailed to the California gold fields from his wharf at the foot of his street, where he lived in a boarding house. As a result of its preservation of its original character, the house is considered to be an exceptionally fine example of a NE Whaling Captain's Home.
