Carter and Laura Williamson purchased the old farmland in 2002, raised four sons there, and then began building the venue in 2010 with a variety of resources from across the Southeast. Given the dwindling number of turn-of-the-century textile mills, the Williamsons discovered, gathered, and organized several antiques from these mills, relocated an 1860s sharecropper cottage, and began the development and modification of the farm into a destination unlike any other. Laura's mother was a founding member of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), and both Carter and Laura have worked for the agency for a total of 60 years. Cherry Hollow Farm incorporates our concern for the environment, agriculture, and the appreciation and reuse of historical artifacts into its creation.
