The Pink Moon is the brainchild of floral designer Rebecca Shepherd. Rebecca has been in the floral industry for over a decade producing all kinds of events but specializing in weddings. She opened a retail flower shop 3 years ago and found that every single person that entered her store was stunned by the 25 foot tall ceilings, the massive chandelier and the general beauty of the space. Walk in customers would step right over a black rope that was put up for boundaries and look around the space in awe! This building, once an old door factory with two floors, was gutted by the architectural genius and landlord. These walls, this corner, this neighborhood married with the floral expertise of Rebecca and her team have led her to open this very special, unique and intimate space. It is our mission to serve as a non-profit organization that is one of the major providers of afterschool programs in New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area. In grades K-12, we have an impact on approximately 40,000 kids from over 100 sites who are primarily from underprivileged communities. Weddings at Union is the wedding program of Union Congregational Church, a century-old stone church on a wide residential street in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. The sanctuary seats up to 400 guests beneath timbered ceilings lit by iron chandeliers and surrounded by Tiffany stained glass windows — an architectural setting uncommon outside historic houses of worship. For smaller celebrations, the Assembly Room accommodates up to 100 guests and comes equipped with 60-inch round tables and chairs. The manicured grounds surrounding the building, with shaped topiary and open lawn, offer additional space for wedding photographs. A Director of Music is available to play organ and piano and can help arrange additional instruments for the ceremony. The church makes no requirements of faith: interfaith couples, same-gender couples, and those who haven't attended services in years are equally and explicitly welcome.
