With seating for up to 1,250 people and full audiovisual capabilities, the Grand Auditorium is a remarkable location for nuptials. The Grand Ballroom, which can seat up to 720 people, is ideal for events with large guest lists. This 10,400-square-foot space features a sumptuous ambiance, a full stage, and two projector screens for clients to display their one-of-a-kind love. Yoshie Akiba, the creator and namesake of Yoshie's, opened a tiny sushi bar in North Berkeley in 1972 with her two best friends Kaz Kajimura, a journalist and carpenter, and Hiroyuki Hori, a painter and Japanese cook. Yoshi's acquired a reputation as the Bay Area's top site for superb Japanese cuisine and jazz music over the following 40 years, becoming one of the world's most regarded jazz venues. Yoshi's is now a 17,000-square-foot award-winning 310-seat live performance venue with a state-of-the-art sound system and design in the middle of Oakland's Jack London Square. The theater has broadened its focus to encompass larger genres suitable for a variety of musical interests under the direction of current Artistic Director Daniel Grujic. Book the sushi bar for your party and see our Chefs creating the most amazing rolls and sashimi combos right in front of you.
