The National Nordic Museum is an internationally recognized museum and cultural center where people of all backgrounds are welcomed to be inspired by the values, traditions, art, and spirit of the Nordic peoples. Dedicated to collecting, preserving, and educating since its founding in 1980, our institution is the largest museum in the United States to honor the legacy of immigrants from the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The NNM shares Nordic culture with people of all ages and backgrounds by exhibiting art and objects, preserving collections, providing educational and cultural experiences, and serving as a community gathering place. As a venue, it offers a variety of event spaces suitable for both large and small gatherings. All venue rentals include banquet tables and chairs, on-site staff during the event, basic house sound and lighting, and secured Wi-Fi.

This beautiful event facility, which has been our exclusive venue for over 20 years, is located in the gorgeous 1900s-era old Fauntleroy Schoolhouse. The Hall at Fauntleroy, located in a peaceful tree-lined neighborhood yet only minutes from downtown Seattle, provides a variety of distinct indoor and outdoor settings. The ceilings are really high. Exposed brick adds warmth and texture to any room. There's also the charm of gentle light streaming in via wide windows that overlook a forested valley. There is a big raised dance floor in the Emerald Room, as well as an anteroom for the bride or other distinguished guests, among other amenities. It's a place that can accommodate up to 250 people yet feels both private and large at the same time. The Vashon Room is one of just a handful of indoor/outdoor event facilities in Seattle. The Vashon Room, with its high ceilings, simple, contemporary elements, and an abundance of natural light, is the ideal canvas for your creative vision to come to life. Immediately outside, there is the Garden Courtyard, a rich, planted setting with a groomed lawn, mature shrubs, and a meandering path—an inviting haven for an outdoor ceremony or reception. The Garden Courtyard can accommodate up to 200 guests. All event attendees of the Vashon Room also have access to The Studio, a cool, pleasant retreat where your guests may unwind and converse while playing billiards or sipping a glass during a break from the main event. The Vashon Room can handle groups ranging from 80 to 170 people.

A 37-acre private estate that is entirely yours for your event. Manicured gardens, a private ponds with English swans, fountains, and two prestigious event tents. Accommodates up to 400 guests. Swedish immigrant Erick Sanders, a successful business and lumberman in Seattle and Bainbridge Island, built this elaborate craftsman house for himself and his wife Sara. The Sanders and several partners purchased 1,100 acres of land in the Green River Valley west of Kent as an investment. After constructing the Mill Pond and sawmill they began to harvest the timber. As a result, the open fertile farmland allowed for the start of what is now known as the Smith Brothers Dairy Farm. On this land, they founded the standard dairy and mill operations. Between 1908-1910 the Sanders’ mansion was constructed with lumber from the recently invested mill, salvaged glass from the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, and excess bricks from the West Valley Highway construction. Most of these original features that have made the Sanders Mansion a unique and modern home of the early 1900’s and been maintained and restored to keep up our Estate as a historical landmark. You can still expect to see original light fixtures in the home and enjoy a warm shower in very rare and original “cage shower” in the upstairs restroom. The mansion was to be the Sanders’ retirement home, equipped with every modern experience and decked out in plants and trees galore. As the years went by the unobstructed view of the valley farmlands and Mt. Rainier were just a few benefits that the Sanders’ got to enjoy within their property. As for the 21st century, the Sanders Estate is our lush home away from home tucked in the corner of Kent.

Barn for Receptions in the Outdoors Beautiful rustic barn with weathered siding and rock wall exterior that is open on the east side, exposing views of the pond, waterfall, gardens, farm, and mountains. The interior is finished with a wood stove. Its partially enclosed interior is finished with clear cedar and recycled rusted tin, and it opens up to a large patio with a waterfall as well as lush gardens, hanging basket roses, and pergolas, and it has stairways that lead down to an open, grassy lawn. Strings of clear lights are strung across the patio and dance floor, creating an enchanting and romantic ambiance for your reception to take place in. There are numerous picturesque locations for the "first look" and additional photographs on the big day. There are a variety of options for your ceremony location. The facility is located indoors. A large stone fireplace, numerous windows for natural lighting, and beautifully finished hardwood wainscoting are among the highlights of this room. Lighting from an elegant chandelier creates a beautiful and romantic atmosphere.

Hand-hewn beams from an early-1800s cabin still form the core of the Stone Cottage at Storybook Farm, a structure that predates the property's founding by more than a century. Moses Atwater and Amy Wilson were among the original settlers of the land in the early 1800s; Warren and Mary Barrett later established Storybook Farm in 1955, running a preschool and summer camp there from the early 1960s through the 1980s before Bryan and Lisa Lowrance took over the property in January 2020. Set minutes from Chapel Hill and Carrboro, North Carolina, the farm today pairs overnight cabin lodging with a dedicated outdoor event space: a covered picnic shelter and 32-by-20-foot stage inside a 27-by-72-foot pavilion, equipped with a stainless-steel prep station, brick furnace, and firepit. The space has hosted concerts, weddings, festivals, corporate conferences, and workshops, including ProgDay, described by the farm as the world's longest-running progressive rock festival. Four rental cabins on the property - Stone Cottage, Barrett Lodge, Warren's Landing, and Rick's Roost - offer additional lodging, with Warren's Landing occupying the site of the farm's former school cafeteria and classrooms.
