Lone Tree Golf & Event Center has been a popular among Bay Area golfers since it opened its doors in 1934. The sloping topography, which lies at the foot of Mount Diablo State Park, affords amazing views of the surrounding Delta region. The course's layout combines ample landing zones that promote playability with fascinating green complexes that provide just the right amount of difficulty for players of all skill levels. The occasional errant tee shot may necessitate navigating mature Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pine trees that can be found in the rough portions of the course. Weddings & Events As a result of our magnificent event space, we can easily handle receptions of more than 300 guests without the difficulty of having some visitors sit outside on a patio, under a tent, or elsewhere. Yoshie Akiba, the creator and namesake of Yoshie's, opened a tiny sushi bar in North Berkeley in 1972 with her two best friends Kaz Kajimura, a journalist and carpenter, and Hiroyuki Hori, a painter and Japanese cook. Yoshi's acquired a reputation as the Bay Area's top site for superb Japanese cuisine and jazz music over the following 40 years, becoming one of the world's most regarded jazz venues. Fern Cottage is an intimate event venue operated by the East Bay Regional Park District, nestled amongst ferns and groves of redwood trees within Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area in El Sobrante, California. Once a park residence and later a senior center, the 1,000-square-foot cottage sits on a landscaped property featuring two outdoor decks and a private enclosed backyard with a lawn and garden — an easy-to-miss woodland retreat within the East Bay hills. The cottage accommodates up to 60 guests for seated receptions indoors and up to 130 guests overall, making it a natural fit for micro weddings, celebrations, bridal and baby showers, small workshops, and retreats. The interior features two rooms arranged in an L-shape, a cozy gas fireplace, and a full kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, six-burner range with oven, and microwave. A covered back deck (30 by 16 feet) and a front deck (16 by 20 feet) extend the usable space outdoors into the surrounding eucalyptus and redwood setting. The facility includes WiFi, an A/V system with screen, projector, and speakers, plus tables and chairs for up to 75 guests. Wheelchair ramp access and accessible restrooms are available on-site.
