Because our floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors lead out to our covered terrace and fireplace, we can provide an open-air venue right on the lake's shore. Tables, seats, plates, utensils, glasses, an integrated bar, audiovisual equipment, and a variety of other facilities are available to you. We can accommodate up to 180 guests for a seated dinner in our huge ballroom, or 300 people for a standing reception-style event in our adjacent ballroom and foyer. The National Nordic Museum is an internationally recognized museum and cultural center where people of all backgrounds are welcomed to be inspired by the values, traditions, art, and spirit of the Nordic peoples. ANGELO RICCI was a second-generation American, descended from a family in Pisterzo, Lazio, in the Monti Lepini—about 100km southeast of Rome. In May 1957, Angelo Ricci opened a delicatessen on the corner of SW 153rd Street and 6th Avenue SW in Burien. At first it was just a small counter and a few tables next to the only liquor store in town. Angelo learned his family’s method of Italian cooking from his father Michele, a grocer who had immigrated from Italy to Osawatomie, Kansas in 1911. Michele always emphasized the importance of the quality and freshness of ingredients. Angelo and his family rapidly expanded, offering a full dining room and lounge by the early 1960s. Angelo made a name for himself by bringing food from around the country and world to Burien.

The Burien Community Center sits in central Burien, adjacent to Dottie Harper Park and within a block of the Community Center Annex Park. Onsite staff are available to help plan events, and the location offers ample parking for larger gatherings. The center's multipurpose spaces host events for 40 to 200 guests. The Seahurst Banquet Hall is a bright, 2,900-square-foot room with laminate wood floors and large windows, outfitted with round and banquet tables, a wall of mirrors, WiFi, and a warming kitchenette, suited to receptions, banquets, and other large-scale celebrations. Four smaller meeting rooms, each roughly 1,200 square feet, accommodate up to 60 guests apiece for meetings, trainings, baby showers, and small parties. Beer, wine, and champagne service is permitted in both the banquet hall and the meeting rooms with advance notice.

TAF is a Seattle-based charity that is reinventing K-12 public education for all students and teachers in Washington State, particularly those who identify as people of color and come from traditionally underprivileged regions. The existing public education system was not created with everyone's success in mind, and it simply does not work. To promote learning opportunities and academic accomplishment for underserved kids, we collaborate with public school systems, colleges, community, and corporate partners. Similarly, we provide professional development and a network of support to aspiring teachers and education leaders of color in public schools. Our 360-degree approach to public education provides an opportunity to reverse systematic injustice and make education a place where everyone wins by focusing on equity and using STEM as a tool for social change.
