Built in 1949 on a 280-acre homestead in Sunset Valley, just 10 minutes from downtown Austin, the Brodie Homestead barn spent nearly 50 years housing cattle, horses, and donkeys before its 2011 purchase by Daniel and Vicki Ross, owners of Austin's Allan House. After an extensive renovation, the family-owned venue opened for events in 2014, and its 38-foot wooden gambrel roof, original cathedral-like ceilings, and large stone walls remain from the historic structure. Six crystal chandeliers, rafter uplighting, and Edison bulb globe lighting illuminate the barn wood and white limestone interior, while custom white draping can divide the more than 4,200 square feet of indoor space into smaller areas. Brodie Homestead hosts weddings, corporate events, holiday celebrations, and non-profit fundraisers, accommodating up to 350 guests standing or 250 seated for a reception, with rentals including exclusive use of the space for 10 hours, two private loft changing suites, a catering prep kitchen, and a stone wall hook system for hanging greenery and florals. Outdoor walkways surround the building, and nearby green space is available for portraits and ceremony photography. Rentals also include a complimentary two-hour bridal portrait or engagement session and a complimentary one-hour ceremony rehearsal, along with an on-site manager and security officer present throughout each event.

Benbrook Stables is one of North Texas' best horse boarding facilities. We exclusively provide high-quality grains and hays to our animals. Whole oats, barley, corn, and oil make up our grain. It has a protein content of 9%, a fat content of 6%, and a fiber content of 6%. There are no by-products or processed by-products in this product. Our hay comes from irrigated farms in Texas and is of the highest quality. Individual stalls with shavings, various secure meadows for daily turnout, a 110 x 330 lighting arena, a smaller lighted riding arena, two round pens, and over 30 miles of gorgeous trails surround Lake Benbrook are just a few of our amenities. The US Army Corps of Engineers maintains the riding trails, which are recognized as horse trails. On the paths, no motorized vehicles are permitted. The Carmel Inn & Suites is a family-owned hotel in Thibodaux, Louisiana, steeped in the bayou land and Acadian culture of the region. The property sits on grounds with a history dating to 1855, when Father Charles M. Menard established a girls' school on the site. The Sisters of Mt. Carmel operated the school until 1965, and the hotel opened in 1973 on the original grounds — carrying that heritage into its present identity.
