The Lafitte Hotel & Bar has a long and illustrious history that dates back to 1849 when it was a private residence of the Galieses family. All of our guest rooms are spacious and individually decorated with antiques and works of art from New Orleans and other places. It all started here. Antoine’s Restaurant is still owned and operated by fifth generation relatives of the original founder, Antoine Alciatore. The world-renowned French-Creole cuisine, impeccable service, and unique atmosphere have combined to create an unmatched dining experience in New Orleans since 1840. With a capacity of over 700 people, our luxurious private rooms can accommodate groups of 14 to 300 people. Both the first and second floors of the hotel are home to Antoine's Private Rooms. The historical building that is home to Pat O’Brien’s was built in 1791 as a private home and was later purchased by Pat O’Brien. Pat O’Brien ran a speakeasy on St. Peter Street until the repeal of Prohibition. He officially opened Pat O’Brien’s Bar on December 3rd, 1933 and the business moved to the present location at 718 St. Peter Street in 1942. In 1990, 624 Bourbon Street was purchased primarily as a private event venue.
