    Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a 65-acre estate on the Gulf Coast in Theodore, Alabama, about 20 miles south of Mobile. Originally developed as a private retreat by Walter and Bessie Bellingrath, the gardens first opened to the public on April 7, 1932, and have welcomed visitors year-round ever since. The estate encompasses sweeping formal gardens — including the Rose Garden, Camellia Parterre, and Conservatory — alongside the English Renaissance-style Bellingrath Home Museum, completed in 1935 by architect George B.
