The decor features candlelit tables, brick fireplaces, a baby grand piano and a private garden. The restaurant operates inside a historic, land-marked carriage house built in 1767. The NORTH GARDEN can be leased in conjunction with the POOL ROOM to give additional capacity for couple's dances, cocktails, and other events. THE POOL ROOM can sit up to 52 people for a seated meal and can be paired with the NORTH GARDEN for pre-dinner cocktails, or expanded to seat up to 80 people. When the garden is accessible to other diners, the sliding frosted glass doors are closed for seclusion when a supper for up to 52 guests is planned. THE EAST GARDEN is a quiet extension of the North Garden. It is great for more private parties, holding up to 24 guests at one table for a seated lunch or dinner. It is covered year-round and enclosed for cold weather. Cocktails can be served in the North Garden before to dinner. Pellegrino Artusi (1820-1911) and his self-published cookbook La Scienza in Cucina e L'Arte di Mangiare Bene are honored at L'Artusi, which opened in December 2008. (The Science of Cookery and the Art of Eating Well). L'Artusi combines comfort and innovation in a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine. Our wine list is primarily Italian, and is organized by area with a map showing DOCs and DOCGs, as well as traditional local meals, to assist demystify Italy, the world's most diversified viticultural nation. Our 110-seat restaurant has two levels of comfy banquette seating, an extended classic bar, a cheese bar, and a chef's counter with an open view of the kitchen. L'Artusi can accommodate groups of 10 to 110 people in its intimate wine room, second-floor mezzanine, or entire restaurant, making it ideal for business dinners, social gatherings, celebrations and showers, and a variety of other events. The Pink Moon is the brainchild of floral designer Rebecca Shepherd. Rebecca has been in the floral industry for over a decade producing all kinds of events but specializing in weddings. She opened a retail flower shop 3 years ago and found that every single person that entered her store was stunned by the 25 foot tall ceilings, the massive chandelier and the general beauty of the space. Walk in customers would step right over a black rope that was put up for boundaries and look around the space in awe! This building, once an old door factory with two floors, was gutted by the architectural genius and landlord. These walls, this corner, this neighborhood married with the floral expertise of Rebecca and her team have led her to open this very special, unique and intimate space. BROOKLYN NY MICRO-WEDDING VENUE The Pink Moon really does boast the perfect size for micro-weddings and mini-monies! As the National Maritime Union's headquarters, the nautically themed structure was originally designed by New Orleans modernist architect Albert Ledner in 1968 to serve as the union's headquarters. In the late 1940s, Ledner worked as an apprentice under the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, where he developed his own playful style. This fanciful approach to modernism was long dismissed by design purists, but The Maritime is now considered to be part of a wave of modernist architecture that is being viewed in a completely different light than it was previously. WhiteBox is a non-profit contemporary art space in Manhattan, founded in 1998 as an alternative gallery in the then-nascent Chelsea neighborhood. Over more than two decades it has relocated across the city — to the Lower East Side, East Harlem, and most recently to Alphabet City in the East Village — sustaining 27 years of uninterrupted programming along the way. The space describes itself as a radically inclusive institution with a mission to remain freely accessible to everyone, prioritizing underserved communities through exhibitions, educational programs, and participatory projects.
