Jefferson started negotiations for the land in 1771 to preserve the view from Monticello, and it was one of his first land acquisitions. The Robert H. Smith Center at Montalto provides a sublime setting to engage a global audience in a dialogue with Jefferson’s ideas and to illuminate Jefferson’s continued relevance in the modern age. Items such as Chiavari reception chairs, folding ceremony chairs, tables, and audio equipment are available, along with necessities like glassware and flatware. Bar services are available, including house and premium liquors, house beers and wines, and signature drinks. This venue’s peak season occurs from April through to October.     Shiloh Manor was once a part of a vast land grant owned by Lord William Fairfax, and it is now a private residence. The property, which has been in the family for generations, has played an important role in the history of Loudoun County, supplying goods to the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, hosting encampments of both the northern and southern armies during the Civil War, and today serving as an elegant and historic setting for weddings and other special events. Located just north of Purcellville, Shiloh Manor has a seating capacity of 100 people and is easily accessible. Our facility's 25-foot-high ceiling, numerous windows, recessed ceiling lighting, and brass chandeliers all contribute to the creation of a bright and airy environment that is fully air-conditioned and heated. A seamless and outstandingly memorable experience for you and your guests is our goal.
