The historic gardens at Planting Field make the ideal location for weddings, rehearsal dinners, and other special occasions. After the gardens have closed to the public, ceremonies for weddings and other celebrations usually start at 5 o'clock or later. To guarantee the exclusivity of your event, only one nighttime event is scheduled for each date. A payment of $15,000 is required to reserve Planting Fields for your private event, and the host is entitled to one year of Sustaining Member perks. Wedding ceremonies call for a $5,000 donation, which entitles the host to one year of Family Member perks. A spectacular Gold Coast mansion from the 1920s still stands today as a statement about art, architecture, and landscape, and its name is Planting Fields. The Bronx Museum of the Arts is a contemporary art museum founded in 1971 by Bronx community advocates, situated on the Grand Concourse in the South Bronx. For more than fifty years, the museum has connected diverse audiences to the urban experience through its permanent collection, special exhibitions, and education programs that reflect the borough's dynamic communities. The museum has long centered the work of artists from underrepresented communities — a practice it established decades before it became widespread. Its AIM Fellowship, launched in 1980, serves as an annual career accelerator for New York City–based artists, and its Teen Council, founded in 2005, offers paid internships to Bronx high school students. Admission to all exhibitions and programs is always free. The Bayside Historical Society makes its home in The Castle, a Gothic Revival landmark building completed in 1887 as the Officers' Club for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Totten in Bayside, Queens. Designated a New York City landmark in 1974 and listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places in 1986, the building has served as the Society's base of operations since 1984 following a major restoration. The Castle is available for private site rentals including weddings, celebrations, and reunions, accommodating up to 125 guests.
