  Union Springs is an East Texas wedding and event location. It is situated on 33 acres of land surrounded by magnificent woodlands. It gives the appearance of a rustic western horse barn, yet it also features modern facilities for brides. The barn is 5000 square feet and can comfortably seat 250 people. There are two covered porches with seating for another 65 people. A bride's dressing room with her own restroom and vanity space is available in the barn. There is also a separate dressing room for the groom. The unusual Dutch doors on the front of the barn provide a separate entrance for each dressing room. A catering kitchen is located adjacent to the buffet area. Your caterer can utilize the commercial refrigerator, warming cabinet, ice machine, and prep tables in the kitchen.   Wind Dancer Retreat sits on 22 acres of countryside just north of Bryan/College Station, Texas, on a rural property also home to Wind Dancer Racing, a horse breeding operation owned by Michael and Rayne Zingelmann. The couple opened the venue in January 2016, converting part of their working ranch into a rustic wedding and event destination surrounded by towering trees, a pond with a lighted water fountain, and a covered gazebo. The venue's centerpiece is a 5,000-square-foot rustic space with a vaulted, knotty-pine ceiling, a large stone fireplace, and an attached open deck, accommodating up to 200 guests seated indoors or 350 for standing-room events. A fully equipped commercial kitchen supports in-house catering or a caterer of the couple's choosing, and the grounds include a swimming pool and two guest cottages, the Boar's Nest and the Hullabaloo Hut, available for overnight stays.   Thistle Hill is the most spectacular cattle baron era estate that has been preserved, and it is also one of the most prominent residential landmarks in Fort Worth. Thistle Hill is a Georgian Revival home that exemplifies the architectural magnificence of Fort Worth's affluent pioneers. The neighborhood where it is located was formerly known as Quality Hill. In the year 1904, Albert Buckman Wharton, Jr. and his wife Electra Waggoner Wharton, who was the daughter of a wealthy cattleman named W.T. Waggoner, moved into this home that was 11,000 square feet and included 18 rooms. The home was remodeled by Sanguinet and Staats in 1911, after Elizabeth and Winfield Scott bought the estate for $90,000 and commissioned them to do so. The original house had been designed by Sanguinet and Staats. The primary bulk of the house is a gambrel-roofed structure that is two and one-half stories tall and has semi-circular bays on either side. The mansion is accentuated by towering chimneys as well as a massive porch that has limestone columns. The roof is covered in glossy green tiles, and the walls are elaborately framed in cast stone. The outside is red brick. The foyer welcomes guests with a grand staircase and abundant woodwork as two of its prominent features. The enclosed gardens of 1.5 acres, which include a magnificent carriage house, have been preserved. In 1975, the home was included in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1977, it was recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and in 1978, it became the first Historic and Cultural Landmark in Fort Worth.

  Tucked into 32 acres of Texas Hill Country near New Braunfels, The Gardens of Cranesbury View brings a genuinely rare sight to the region: three acres of formal European gardens, complete with eight-foot hedges and a driveway lined by more than 100 rose bushes. Owner Amy Templeton, a Cal Poly-trained horticulturist who studied the Gardens of Versailles, spent 15 years shaping the grounds into what she calls "a little piece of Europe set here in New Braunfels" — a deliberate departure from the typical Hill Country look, and all the more striking for it. Ceremonies take place at an elegant 15-foot wrought-iron gazebo set among the gardens, with no extra charge for using the site. When weather turns, celebrations move indoors to the ballroom — designed in the spirit of an old English chapel, with a white marble floor and warm, elegant accents across 3,200 square feet — or to the fully covered courtyard, where crystal chandeliers hang above a garden view complete with a mobile bar and space for games. A bridal suite with multiple makeup stations and a garden-view balcony, along with a separate groom's suite, round out the preparations. The venue includes chiavari and padded chairs, tables, and a day-of facilitator with every package, and the grounds are gated, well-lit, and fully handicap accessible.
