Located in the heart of Chelsea’s Flower District, ILA Penthouse has multiple uses for entertaining indoors and outdoors, from corporate team building events and trainings, to unique Michelin chef dining experiences and other milestone celebrations including baby showers and weddings. Our venue's botanical environment can be configured to suit your individual needs. We offer many catering options, custom cocktails & mocktails, event design services, and of course, flowers. Tables, chairs, house linens, dishes and glasses are all included with your rental. ILA Penthouse and FlowerSchool NY are eco-friendly businesses. We compost organic matter daily, and do not allow single-use plastics or balloons in our space. All of the floral designs are foam-free and supported by organic materials and/or reusable containers. Ideal Glass Studios is an artist-run film & TV production studio, founded in 2004 by native New Yorker, actor, and artist, Willard Morgan. The original East Village space, was transformed from a 1950’s glazier’s workshop into an independent gallery space and art collective. It was run by a small team of creatives dedicated to fostering a collaborative creative community, and featured rotating mural walls, art exhibitions, film screenings and multidisciplinary performances. In 2017, Morgan opened The Atrium and The Mansion in NYC’s West Village. Here, high-profile film, TV, music, fashion, and art vanguards gather regularly to collaborate. The original space’s DIY vibe lives on in its caring and eccentric team, encouraging creators to present their ideas clearly and express their vision freely. From the moment Chef Daniel Boulud could hold a spoon, he remembers savoring his mother’s potato dish – Le Gratin Dauphinois, a favorite he remains to make on all celebratory occasions. The symbolic and casual restaurant connects Chef Daniel with the traditional bistros and bouchons of his hometown of Lyon, France, known for their welcoming ambiance and soulful cuisine. The rustic menu reflects a soulful approach to seasonality, bright flavors, and classic techniques highlighting special ingredients from local purveyors. Lyonnais classics such as “Quenelle de Brochet au Gratin” and “Steak Tartare à la Parisienne” share space with seasonal dishes and “Plat du Mois” – a rotating dish of the month showcasing regional cuisine, meant to share. Our wine list boasts more than 100 offerings, with a special focus on the wine regions surrounding Lyon, including Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Rhône Valley. The cocktail menu features both classic and original selections, perfectly paired with our Lyonnaise cuisine. Full of charm, Le Gratin’s interior design transports guests to the bright and boisterous bistros of France. Marc Dennis, a local Brooklyn-based artist, known for his hyper-realistic paintings, contributed several floral-themed pieces to be featured throughout the dining room.
