Rooted In Activism 2930 E Jefferson began its current chapter as a nexus for the cannabis legalization movement in 2010. After the successful campaign to legalize medical cannabis in 2008, activist attorney Matthew Abel purchased the building in Detroit's Rivertown District as a home for Cannabis Counsel® Law Firm, the oldest and first cannabis only law firm in the country.
