In February 2016, we opened the doors to Brass Bear Brewing in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara, CA, one block from the ocean, featuring our high-quality craft beer, rotating guest taps, wine, sparkling wine, and cider. Locally sourced ingredients are vital to our menu. Our menu comprises locally sourced charcuterie boards, tri-tip skewers, chicken, shrimp, occasionally shark, burger, and hot toasted sandwiches. During a cross-country National Parks road trip from New York to California, the Brass Bear name was born! Coincidentally, in our favorite park. We went camping in Glacier (the kind which involves signing your life away at the ranger station and being armed with bear spray). The late afternoon sun hit the bears perfectly and turned them into a beautiful brass color. They glanced our way and with a decisive grunt carried on. We agreed over dinner that night that this would be the perfect name for our own business one day, to remind us to face our fears and keep on trekking!

To reserve the space for up to 100 guests, you have exclusive access to our back patio between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM on any day of the week. An event coordinator will work with you through the entire process and be on-site the day of to ensure everything runs smoothly. For food and beverage options, we offer a variety of choices. You may select from our in-house passed hors d'oeuvres or opt for one of our preferred catering partners for a full-course meal. Prices can vary depending on your selection. In terms of beverages, we offer wine and beer. Please note that beverage purchases are in addition to the rental fee. If you choose to bring your own beverages, a corkage fee will apply. Alternatively, if you prefer to only rent the space without food and beverage service, the venue fee alone would apply. Please inquire about pricing. Lovely Day is an elegant and industrial large-capacity venue in the Longfellow Neighborhood of Oakland (near MacArthur BART). As a former catering company and restaurant, we have our own expertly-staffed industrial kitchens on site, capable of serving up to 10,000 meals per day at full capacity. We hold an ABC Type 47 liquor license, and are pleased to serve a full bar of cocktails, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic mocktails. Amplified music is allowed late at our venue. — We wanted a place where you could dance with your best friend to that one song from college. A place where you could light sparklers while shooting off confetti cannons. A charming space to spend time with people, have some great food and tasty cocktails. Fancy six course dinners eaten in pajamas are encouraged here, because we know a fine dining experience doesn't have to be snooty or uncomfortable — it just needs to be good. For larger events, a restaurant buyout requires a food and beverage minimum of $17,500 - $25,000 (plus service charge and sales tax), with the amount varying depending on the season, the size of the party, and the day of the week. A Friday rehearsal dinner or a Saturday wedding (in the late spring or early fall) are both very popular choices for couples. Our guests are not charged any room fees, location fees, or rental fees for any of the services that a restaurant would normally provide. Valet parking is available for a fee of $10 per car.
