Later, I made my way into the New York City restaurant industry, where I worked as a pastry chef at the Russian Tea Room. I was awarded two gold medals by the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique's Salon of Culinary Art for my work in the kitchen. Having worked at places such as the Glen Oaks Country Club, City Hall, La Grenouille, and Gascogne Bistro, I decided to branch out and open my own restaurant on Staten Island in 2007. Over the course of seven years, the Alor Cafe has evolved into a fine dining and music venue. Today, I am the proud father of three children, and I live in Brooklyn with my wife. As a business owner, I take pleasure in giving back to my community. I also appreciate that Staten Island's accessibility allows for affordable ownership while still remaining connected to the city's energy. I recently ended my relationship with my long-term partner, but I'm ready to move on to the next phase. My current project is the "Better Burger" Project for the Chefs of America Foundation, on which I am currently working as a member. I've taken on this responsibility with the goal of demonstrating to the Staten Island community that eating healthy, sustainable foods is a wise choice and that this is the direction in which the restaurant market is moving.

Kelli Connell's twenty-year study with one model is an introspective examination of sexuality and gender roles in intimate relationships that form self-identity. The project investigates identity polarities such as the masculine and feminine psyche, the irrational and rational self, the outward and interior self, and the motivated and resigned self. Body language and clothes define the dualities of the person by mixing several photographic negatives of the same model in each image. The significance of these photos rests in their portrayal of internal conflicts as an outward object: a photograph. The spectator is presented with "constructed realities" through these pictures. The mission of the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, which is the last remaining "great country estate" in the Bronx Pelham Bay Park, is to create a vibrant site through the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the property and grounds for the benefit of the public throughout the greater New York City metropolitan area and beyond. In order to achieve our mission, we must do the following things: 1) protect, preserve, and restore the site's architecture, landscape, and collection; 2) interpret the site's history in compelling and innovative ways; and 3) develop dynamic education programs for students in grades K-12, adults, and families. Montclair Wedding Sanctuary occupies a historic Neo-Gothic church in Montclair, New Jersey, designed by architect Bertram Goodhue and dedicated in 1916. Soaring vaulted ceilings, a cathedral-length aisle, intricate stained glass windows, and original oak woodwork give the main Sanctuary one of the more architecturally distinctive ceremony settings in northern New Jersey. The congregation behind it — a ministry of First Congregational Church of Montclair — has championed inclusive values for nearly 150 years, hosting Montclair's first same-gender marriage in October 2013 and explicitly welcoming interfaith, unaffiliated, same-gender, and non-traditional couples. Three spaces serve different moments of the day: the Sanctuary itself, accommodating ceremonies from 25 to 450 or more guests; the Courtyard Garden, an outdoor setting with stonework and a central lawn suited to gatherings of up to 40; and the Guild Room, a high-ceilinged, heavy-beamed reception hall for up to 85 seated or cocktail-style guests. History Pelham Country Club began as a modest tennis club and five-hole golf course carved out of a cow meadow in 1908. Today, the club boasts a membership of over 2,000 people. When an influential member called Mont Rogers formed a corporation to purchase the site, he contacted famed golf architect Devereux Emmet to design a championship golf course. The course was completed in the summer of 1921. Pelham's golf course, which was created from virgin woodland and winds its way around and over rolling, low-lying hills, offers a variety of scenic panoramas of exceptional beauty. It is difficult to think that Manhattan is only 15 miles away, given the natural beauty of its surroundings, which is comparable only to an old English park. To serve as Pelham's first golf professional, Rogers brought in "Long" Jim Barnes, who was then ranked among the world's top three golfers, to work alongside the course's construction crew. One week after opening the new course, Jim Barnes went down to Columbia Country Club in Washington, D.C., and handily won the 1921 U.S. Open Championship. Barnes also won the inaugural PGA Championship, which was held at neighboring Siwanoy C.C., and was awarded the U.S. Open Trophy in 1921 by President Warren G. Harding, who also served as Barnes' caddie. Pelham Country Club became the epicenter of the golfing universe almost immediately. President Harding was appointed an honorary member of the Club, and Jim Barnes, the new "Pride of Pelham," was welcomed home with a spectacular gala hosted at the Club. Finally, in 1923, it was decided to stage the PGA Championship at Pelham Country Club, and what a fantastic championship it turned out to be. In attendance were all of the top golf pros of the day, and the fiercely-fought championship game, which pitted Gene Sarazen against Walter Hagen, has stood the test of time. It is still considered to be one of the most dramatic match play finals in the history of the Championship, with Gene Sarazen taking home the victory after an incredible 38-hole battle.

Alder Manor is a 72-room Renaissance Revival mansion in Yonkers, New York, designed in 1912 by the architecture firm Carrère and Hastings for mining magnate William Boyce Thompson. Named for Thompson's Montana hometown of Alder Gulch, the estate sits on more than six acres of classically inspired gardens filled with authentic Roman artifacts imported from Italy in the early twentieth century. The interior is defined by a succession of original architectural features: marble floors, walnut and oak paneling, a rare English-style trompe-l'oeil ceiling, a 15th-century Italian stone fireplace, an actual 16th-century Italian church façade incorporated into the structure, a three-story staircase, and an indoor tiled pool topped by a stained glass window. Many of the 72 rooms retain original Renaissance paintings and historic artifacts. The grounds command views of the Hudson River and the Palisades.
